Information listed in this document permits comparative analysis of population, agency size, staffing, entry requirements, compensation ranges, and benefits for 1989. I Sections include agency selection standards and training requirements, employment distribution and data statistics, and agency and basic academy addresses for California law enforcement. Commentary on the Basic Course Waiver Examination I is provided for use by out-of-state peace officers, or former California peace officers seeking to return to law enforcement employment after a three-year break in service.
