Job Descriptions: There are 20 – 30 available positions overall. As a Server, employees will greet customers and seat them at their table. They will take food and drink orders and serve customers their meal. The service team will be knowledgeable on all menu items so they can provide assistance to Bluestone Lanes Locals. As well as interacting with customers, servers also have the opportunity to interact with their fellow co-workers. Baristas will be responsible for making coffee and/or tea beverages to order. Baristas will be expected to learn to properly use and clean all related machinery (espresso machines, milk steamers, etc.), take customer orders and handle cash sales at a register in a fast-paced environment. Cooks are responsible for preparing and cooking food orders per recipe guidelines. Cooks prepare batters, meat dishes and vegetables. Cooks provide back up to the line during busy hours, including restocking and maintaining workstations to assure plenty of product is always available. Cooks clean all workstations at the end of the day, sweeping and mopping of floors. The first two weeks of employment are training weeks. During those training weeks, you will receive closer to 20-25 hours/week, but as business picks up and as you learn more about the business, your hours will increase. Work Start Dates: You should plan your US arrival so you can begin working as early as May 15. Work Finish Dates: We are looking for candidates who can stay as late as possible. September 15 is the latest you can finish working. You must give at least two weeks notice of your final day of work and be as upfront and honest as possible about your work finish dates. Uniform: Bluestone will provide staff with 3 seasonal button-up shirts, hat and apron. Staff will then pair these with their own jeans and suitable closed-toe shoes. Housing Information: We do not provide housing for J-1 participants, but we are able to assist you if you have any questions or need help finding housing resources. In the past students have been successful finding accommodations before they arrive to the US. Be sure to have a signed lease that clearly states the rules and regulations of your housing agreement.
