The Round Table India Song was composed in 1970 by Tr. Dipak Shah, a member of Bombay West Round Table No. 6 and adopted as the WOCO Song by World Council at the Hamburg Conference in 1976.

If we could consider each other A neighbour, a friend or a brother It would be a wonderful wonderful world It would be a wonderful world . . . (Chorus) If each little kid had fresh milk each day If each old soul had some place to stay If each working man had enough time to play It would be a wonderful world . . . (Chorus) If there were no poor and the rich were content If strangers were welcome wherever they went If each of us knew what true brotherhood meant It would be a wonderful world . . . (Chorus) If people all over would trust one another Not thinking about their race or their colour If they did agree to join hands altogether It would be a wonderful world . . . (Chorus) If Tablers of India can properly plan To do for their country whatever they can If FELLOWSHIP brings about SERVICE to man It would be a wonderful world . . . (Chorus) Oh Boy! It would be a wonderful world.

Not only Quantity, we also concentrate on Quality fellowships as well. Out of 130 fellowships we had this year – 70 were with ladies or families. At VRT77 the ladies consider themselves as Tablers (that’s probably the reason why we do not have a LC … Jokin…). We have had all types of fellowships - over Bhutta at the Beach and Parties at 5 Star Hotels. Movies, Cricket, Fellowships at Home, Fellowship with Sq. Legs and Spin the Spoon were all given due importance. Our Tablers have participated in all the Area Fellowship events as well. The turnout for internal Fellowships have also been phenomenal.

Finally after a gap of 13 LONG YEARS on 30th Oct 2010 we chartered the Vizag Vikings Round Table 213. The Charter Chairman is Tr. Dr. Raghunandan. The Kudos of this goes to Tr. Ameet & Tr. Aanand and yours truly. Tr. Ameet and Tr. Shrawan took Dual Membership in VVRT213 for 1 year.

On 5th June 2011, both VRT 77 and VVRT213 inaugurated the 4th Table in Visakhapatnam – Vizag Knights Round Table. This was a Historic Event for both the Tables, Area 9 and RTI. VRT 77 did a back to back Inaugurations of 2 Tables in a row. And VVRT213 inaugurated a New Table in the first year of its Charter. Visakhapatnam as a Tabling Centre is Growing. Tr. Jaideep Singh Anand – The National Extension Convener graced the Inauguration alongwith Tr. Deepak Menda and Tr. Sidharth Karan.

Its been a great feel of having been instrumental in the inauguration of both the Tables…..its just so satisfying… We are looking forward to extend Tabling in Vizianagaram City next. Internally, we are a Strong Table. We were 24 at the beginning of the year. Tr. Shyjith resigned the Table due to his Ill Health. But we have 2 big Retirements this year – Tr. Aanand Khara and Tr. Dhaminder Singh Anand, it will definitely be tough to fill these shoes but thankfully they are just a call away. We look forward to internally extending with guys who would do real justice to the Movement.

Tr. Shrawan Somani . Projects have been at its best this year. We have been concentrating on 3 major Projects:

1.Project First Smile – A Long term project with Maya Foundation, Visakhapatnam where we provide free Cleft Lips and Palate Operations to Underprivileged children who cannot afford it. Cleft Lips and Palate is a common problem in the area of Northern Andhra Pradesh and Orissa. It is a Genetic Disorder. The Child with this deformity is dejected from the Society and family. The Child is not exposed to Education and Peer Groups. Each Operation cost about Rs. 10,000/- which includes Initial Screening of Patients, Pre-operation facilities for the Patient and the Escort, Medicines for Recovery and the Post Operation Checkups. The Child is not left out once the operation is done by the Hospital. Once operated the Child gets his first smile and a new beginning. Tr. Ameet brought in funds to the tune of Rs. 11,00,000/- towards this project. There were smaller contributions received from others too. We also received Rs. 1,25,000/- from the RTIF and RTIT for this project. We have completed this year a total number of 116 Operations till date which makes the count 251 for VRT 77 since the project started 2 years ago.

2.Theosophical Society School – We will be constructing a Building block for them with 10 class rooms on 2 levels at a cost of Rs. 26,00,000/-. Tr. Ameet brought in the funds through Mrs. Sundari Dadlani towards building this School Block. All the Drawings, Plans are prepared and submitted to the GVMC for Clearance. We are waiting for a Approval Letter from them to start the work.

3.Vijnana Bharati School, Paderu – VRT 77 identified this School for Sponsoring last year. Due to location constraints this project was executed this year. This School is providing education to the Tribals in and around the agency areas of Paderu. It is associated with the Vignana Bharti group. Phase 1 comprising of 4 classrooms has successfully been completed and inaugurated by our Area Chairman Tr. Deepak Menda in a beautiful function put up by the children of the school in front of 30 tablers, ladies and twinklers who travelled many miles to be there for that special day. The Total project cost is Rs. 8,50,000/-. We received an amount of Rs. 25,000/- from Sq. Leg. Jitender Singh Chugh of RT 148 , Hyderabad towards his commitment of Sponsoring Schools in Area 9 for last 5 years. We have dedicated one Classroom to Sq. Leg. Jitender Singh Chugh. We have applied for Grants from RTIF and RTIT for Rs. 1,25,000/-. The rest of money is being raised from the Community Service Account. Tr. Aanand Khara, who has been most instrumental in the execution of this project will be handling this project till the completion. This has been approved by the floor unanimously. Tr. Ameet Mirpuri . We have been receiving the award for HRD consecutively for past 5 years in the Area. We strive for it this year too. HRD means improvising ourselves, being flexible, aligning our thought process to the others thereby adjusting to the scenario, people and environment around us. HRD also means that we share with others what you know and to learn from others what you don’t. Tabling is a platform for learning. You learn from the Sq. Legs, Tablers within your Table, your Area and the Nation. Best part of Learning in Tabling – It’s almost FREE and of real Great Quality. With Stalwarts like Sq. Leg. Hari Krishna, Sq. Leg. Vijay Atmakuri, HT. Sisir, Tr. Aanand Khara, Tr. Deepak Menda, and Tr. Dr. Raghu we have enough to learn every time. We had 10 HR Sessions by our own Tablers. 25th July Tr.Aanand conducted a very important HR module on the roles of each convener in RTI for the new tablers of VVRT 213 and VRT 77. 28th Aug Tr. Dr. Raghu conducted a HRD on “HEAL THE WORLD”. It was an awareness to us as how a small Balloon bought by us for our Kids is effecting our Environment. 11th Nov ENT & Dental Camp was conducted at Karasa School. Dr. Rakesh, Dr. Suresh and Dr. Harita educated the kids on Oral and ENT Hygiene and Care. Dental Packs were also distributed. 16th Dec Tr. Aanand Khara had taken up a HR session at AQJ College, Vizag. He shared the Dias with the Manager SIDBI, the Manager DIC – Vizianagaram & Editor of Yo! Vizag – Ms. Shilpa Dantu. This was covered in by 3 Daily Newspapers also. The Students were completely glued to their seats while Tr. Aanand was talking to them. A very Interactive session. This same can be taken up for the Tablers as well sometime in the future. Tablers like Aanand are such an asset not only to the Table, but to Area and National also. Way to go Tr. Aanand Khara. 27th Dec AC - Tr. Deepak to a Practical HR at Sq. Leg Vijay’s place during a business meeting cum Social on the topic – Virtues vs Options in Life. We should not loose our virtues no matter what happen to us in our life. 23rd Jan We also had a Joint HRD with VVRT213 on PTBAT which was taken up by Tr. Deepak Menda & Tr. Aanand Khara at Tr. Tr. Dr. Suresh – HRD on Dental Hygiene at Karasa, Marikvalsa & Sunflower School on different dates.

Our HR convener – Tr. Naveen had taken 2 outbound HRs on Wealth Management in Kurnool.

Sq. Leg. Vijay Atmakuri took a HR session for the Knights in one of the contact meetings. Surprisingly, his experience in Tabling was enlightening for Tablers of VRT 77 and VVRT 213 also.

All the Contact meetings which we had for the Knights were nothing less than PTBAT. The Prospects always wanted to know as to why Tabling is a medium for Adopt, Adapt and Improve. Who is the most powerful in Tabling. What kind of Social work do Tablers do. Examples and Experiences of Tabling activities. Tr. Aanand Khara, Tr. Deepak Menda, Tr. Devesh Gupta and Tr. Dr. Raghu answered their Questions.

There was a open forum where we talked about: Fund Raising –How do we raise Funds Zero Admin Expenses of the Round Table India –How we are a better Choice for Charity. Tr. Aanand Khara enlightened the Prospects with the fact that Publicity does not come FREE. The Zero Admin Cost implies that the amount spend on Publicity is to be borne by the Admin account and not the Community Service Account. On the Contrary we use the Word of Mouth and Extension as a Publicity Tool. The number of Tablers adding up will automatically bring in Publicity of the Movement. Every Tabler is a Brand Ambassador of RTI Some of the Queries by the Prospects: P & G Tie Up–How did this association come up and kind of Efforts put in by the Tablers Publicity–Why isn’t RTI publicizing Work done by the Tablers compared to other NGO’s Partying & Fellowship–From where do the money come in for the Partying & Fellowship. It was an eye opener not only for the Prospects but also for the Tablers when Tr. Devesh gave a statistics that the Per Capita Spending on Projects is Rs. 50,000/-every year. Each Tabler contributes an average of Rs. 50,000/-per year towards Projects (Directly or indirectly). The Prospects as well as the Tablers were Awestruck by these figures – especially “EVERY YEAR”. Deepak speaking to the Teams and sharing with them what we do at RTI. I am sure there shall be a lot of Prospects in this group of people. EARTH HOUR 26th Mar It started off as a blackberry app - Earth Hour (An efforts put in by various countries to Save our EARTH). What followed was a quick message to the table. Even before, one could say “Tiruvanthapuram”, Tr. Ameet responded. He was all gung ho about taking this forward. After a few calls, we found that Yo! Vizag & Purple were also planning to do something around Earth Hour. So, instead of having 2 or 3 different initiatives run, we asked them to join us. Now this was going to be a city wide event, which meant there would be excellent publicity for Round Table India, if we were able to pull it off. The approach taken for this event was very business like. Tasks were assigned to all and we met every day to review the status of the same. We had banners & posters prepared which were stuck around the city in all prominent areas to spread awareness of the Earth Hour. Our very own, Tr. Vishnu Dantu, Blog & IT Convener, Area 9, helped design the posters and the banners. He also designed the flexes, which were used during the event. A Facebook campaign was also initiated and this campaign reached out to about 9000 folks across the city. Permissions were sought and all the preparation and ground work was done. The series of events kick started with an interview on Big FM. Our incoming National Go Green convener, Tr. Dr. Raghu Yellavarthi, gave an interview with Big FM. During his 30 min interview, Tr. Dr. Raghu took the opportunity of explaining the efforts being put in by RTI towards the environment. He spoke about Go Green and also about Earth Hour and the initiative taken by the Vizag Round Tables towards spreading awareness. The channel ran advertisements around the initiative once every 15 minutes over the course of Fri & Saturday. Bulk SMS was also sent out through the VRT 77 inbox & other sources. Finally, on 20th March, the tablers met up at 4.30 PM on the beach road for the event. The kids also participated by not only spreading awareness but by building the tools required to spread awareness. To build crowd interest & participation, we had street dancers performing live. This really got the crowd going as large number of folks gathered to watch them perform. Once we had the crowd participation going, it was time to kick off the event and Environmentalist, Prof. RV Ramana Rao along with Area Chairman, Tr. Deepak Menda flagged off the event by releasing pigeons. They also spoke to the press at the start of the initiative to explain the importance of Earth Hour and the effort being put in to bring about awareness. This was followed by the awareness march, where in addition to the tablers, we had school children from The Presidential School & a lot of folks from the city participate. The people carried flexes & placards reiterating the importance of contributing towards the planet and urging people to switch off their lights from 8.30 PM to 9.30 PM. We also had a sand sculpture prepared which reflected the theme of the awareness campaign, “Save the Earth”. The initiative was well received in the city and as many as 10 media houses covered the event. We had Zee TV, Studio N, Doordarshan & MAHAA TV cover the event live while almost all the local newspapers carried the story next day. The impact of the awareness campaign was felt across the city. In addition to the thousands of households, The Gateway Hotel, HSBC & other such big corporate switched off the lights for an hour to support the cause. Even Novotel, whose site is under construction, decided to shut down their construction activities and all lights for the Earth Hour. In Prof. RV Ramana Rao’s words, never has there been a focus this big on the importance of contributing towards the planet. He was highly appreciative of the efforts put in by Round Table India towards the environment. And like they always say…. It begins at home. Tr. Ameet led the way by switching off the lights at his house for the 1 hour from 8.30 PM. He had candles all around the house and the time with the lights & electronics off showed us that we can do without some of the so called “essential” items today. Way to Go Ameet!!!

Our interaction with the 41ners is very good and great. We have made them involved in all our major events and Fellowships. The most important and crucial step which we had taken is to appoint a 41ners Convener. Tr. Shashank has done a fantastic job. He has shared all the activities which the Table does with the 41ners and vice versa. The 41ners were always on our side – right beside us with their support whenever we needed. Our very own Sq. Leg Hari Krishna was made the National HT this year. 41ners in a huge strength attended the Area AGM at Hyderabad. We won the Award for Maximum Attendance thanks to them. HT. Ravindra sponsored Rs. 10,000/- for the Hindi Comedy Play. HT. Sisir arranged for a sponsor of Rs. 25,000/- for the Hindi Comedy Play. Our 41ners were the maximum in number to buy the Donor Passes for the Play. Infact the Exclusive Passes were picked by them in great numbers. A Chunk of the Cracker Boxes sale was also through the Sq. Legs.

30th Sept At the AEX which was held at Visakhapatnam – Sq. Leg A V R K Kumar and Sq. Leg. Adeep Banoji Rao were honoured by the National President.

27th Dec Sq. Leg Vijay Atmakuri was very kind to host the entire VRT 77 family for a Dinner and a Business Meeting. This meeting was very historic as we all celebrated the Awards received by VRT 77 qt the Area and National Level.

This is what some of the 41ners had to say us: Charter Chairman Sq. Leg Krishna Kumar Wining Awards is Good… But what is Fabulous is that VRT 77 has made it an Habit Sq. Leg. Vijay Atmakuri The Benchmark put by Tr. Shrawan if ever broken will be VRT 77 itself Tr. Shashank Dutt Every time we visited Hyderabad, we knew whom to contact no matter for what. We have always taken him for Granted. He represented us at many Events at Hyderabad. His home was like a Home away from Home. Jyothi played a great host whenever went to their home. Tr. Siva Perla.

As a Secretary – I came closer to all the Tablers. I came to understand so much in Tabling. Still this is just the beginning. I have met many Tablers outside 77. They give the same vibes and feeling as the 77ner do. This makes me willing to meet more and more Tablers. At our Business Meetings, we have had some Great Moments and some not so great ones. All have touched my hearts and will be cherished for my life. Secretaryship was a smooth ride if you have a Chairman like Kiran. Never did I get an order from him for any work. Instead of me helping him in his Chairmanship, he was the one who has helped me in my Secretary’s work. But, I always received an Applause from him so loud that my heart could hear it even without him actually clapping his hands. For all those people who say that Secretary’s job is a Slogging Job …. Think again.. Take it up when you think there is a right Chairman for you. But, I didn’t even had to think because Hari Anna did it for me. Thank you Anna. I have made mistakes – right from making mistakes in the minutes till this report that you are reading now. I sincerely apologies to all my family for them. Many of them have not even pointed them to me or made me realise it also. That’s my Family. This is One place where I will be willing to go anytime and any day.

I did not miss out a chance to make a funny comment on any of us around. I only did it in Good Humour. I will continue to do it unless someone says no.

Probably will take up this job again in my last Tabling year. Tr. Sandeep Choudhari

This has been a fantastic year. The reason was mainly because of the choice of the Conveners. The have been the best. All the facets were well covered. Right from HRD, Community Service, Supply house, greeting cards, not to forget the Fellowship. After a span of 5 years, we have done a fabulous project. The whole VRT77 Family enjoyed the Inauguration of Paderu Project.

This year Publicity was tremendous. Most of the event were double or triple faceted. Parent Day and Marivalsah School Painting were closest to my heart. Because it involved the Ladies and Kids. Everyone had a great time.

The Icing of the cake was the Extension. This year we did the Charter of VVRT and Inauguration of VKRT. I can proudly say that I am the only chairman in the whole of RTI to do in one year.

Some might think that I am selfish to exhaust the balances in the Admin and Community Service. But I strongly believe that not spending the same and keeping it in the bank will not make it grow. We need to spend it and again create it.

I wish Tr. Ameet a Great Year ahead and just want to tell him that I am available 24 x 7. This year will also be my last year in Tabling and I want to cherish it for life.
