En el año 1950 la FIBA organizó el primer Campeonato Mundial de Básquet y Argentina, siendo país sede se quedó con el título como campeón mundial. Luego ganando en cuatro campeonatos sudamericanos, nuestra selección conquista el oro en los Juegos Suramericanos en el año 1982 y también en los juegos Panamericanos del año 1995 disputados en la ciudad de Mar del Plata. A partir del año 2001 la selección argentina conquista otros títulos como el Campeonato Sudamericano de Valdivia y el Campeonato FIBA Américas disputado en Neuquén, ganados por Argentina, momento a partir del cual comienza a formarse la base de grandes jugadores de reconocimiento y jerarquía internacional.

Teniu un anàlisi de cadascuna de les seleccions centrat en els jugadors clau, en els punts forts i febles, i en la dinàmica que han anat seguint.
