The serenity of our oak covered campus changes as the doors of all the academic buildings swing wide open. Immediately, the campus comes alive as students from all over the world hurry along the sidewalk, rushing to see their friends before getting to class. It happens in a flash, five minutes to be exact before the campus is cleared and all is calm again. This is the feeling of Montverde Academy. Students have the opportunity to work with teachers in an innovative, college preparatory setting. With an average 15 to 1 student-faculty ratio, classes are focused on cultivating critical thinking skills and developing life-long knowledge while encouraging students to do their best both in and out of the classroom. AP and Honors Courses With 33 AP courses and 14 Honors classes, students can further their college preparatory education with a broad selection of subjects. Specialized Degree Programs We offer several unique programs for students who have already decided on their area of concentration. The Subject Area Concentration (SAC) offers six major concentrations that chart college preparatory courses for four years beginning in grade 9. Whether you love being in the spotlight or behind the scenes, our Media Arts program is the place for you! With state of the art equipment, a professional level recording studio, and a wide variety of classes to choose from, the possibilities are endless! Classes are offered in film production, digital video editing, television and remote broadcasting, video journalism, radio broadcasting and digital media communications. 8 » MONTVERDE ACADEMY Innovative Media Arts and Technology Technology plays a vital role in your path to higher learning. At Montverde Academy, we are always assessing the trends and changes in technology and education so that students and faculty can benefit from innovative teaching and learning in and out of the classroom. With campus-wide Wi-Fi access, students have 24-hour access to the necessary technologies that help enhance their learning. The Middle School years define your likes, dislikes, skills, talents and more. With a sense of curiosity and endless energy, Middle School students are given more responsibility and independence in their approach to academics, athletics and extra curricular activities. Montverde Academy’s Middle School academic program gives students a solid foundation in arts, humanities, mathematics, and sciences balanced with clubs, community service, and athletics.
