College Counseling If your goal is to excel, then Montverde Academy is the place for you. Our seniors have a 100 percent college acceptance rate to schools that include Princeton, Harvard, Yale and University of California, Berkeley.

We take our responsibility as a college preparatory school seriously. The college guidance staff is available year-round and will work with you to decide your path to higher learning. Throughout the year, admission officers from more than 75 colleges and universities visit with students on campus.

Your path to college begins as a freshman with the PSAT test, which prepares you for the SAT and ACT which are required for college admission.

Sophomores participate in the Sophomore College Experience, a unique Montverde Academy college fair held on campus.

Juniors continue the college placement process with the PSAT, SAT, ACT and the SAT Prep course. By participating in PSAT testing as a junior, students are able to enter competition for scholarships from the National Merit Scholarship Competition. Students are also invited to attend a college fair off campus where over 130 college admission representatives are available for informal interviews.

Seniors start the year with a fun and informative seniors only weekend kickoff. Advisors and college counselors lead the weekend of activities and team building while clarifying the expectations for the fall semester. Your Path to Excellence Starts Here » 27 Take your music and theatre skills to the next level The Montverde Academy Arts Conservatory (MAAC) takes music and theatre arts to the next level! Aspiring artists will find a path that will lead them through an in-depth and challenging music or theatre program that brings out their passion and commitment to their artistic career.

MAAC is designed to help your artistic gifts and technical skills flourish and integrate them with academics to prepare you for college, university and beyond. There are several things that set MAAC apart from other pre-collegiate arts programs including:

• Multiple areas of concentration to choose from - vocal, strings, theatre, musical theatre, or theatre tech • Weekly studio performances • Daily practice • Seminar and master classes

Faculty With a passion for developing aspiring artists, our faculty are much more than teachers. Each one brings a comprehensive knowledge of music and theatre to the classroom gained from an extensive academic background integrated and real world experience. All of our faculty are as comfortable in the classroom as they are in the spotlight, be it as performer, conductor, or composer. The energy that they bring will surely inspire you to reach beyond your boundaries and discover endless possibilities!

While Montverde Academy does not require an on-campus tour, we do highly recommend that you visit our beautiful 125-acre campus. Experiencing the diversity and beauty of our campus first hand is a great way to decide if Montverde Academy is the right school for you.

The Admission office offers personal tours Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tours begin at the Walter L. Stephens Administrative Building where visitors will register upon arrival.

• Apply by completing the online application and paying the fee of $100. • Request an official copy of the applicant’s transcripts. • Lower School – Please request transcripts from your current school for grades 1 through 5, and any standardized testing (if applicable). • Middle School – An official copy of the previous (two years) and current school transcripts, including prior year’s standardized testing (if applicable) and attendance information. • Upper School – An official copy of the 8th grade through 12th grade school transcripts, including prior year’s standardized testing (if applicable) and attendance information. • International Students – All international students must submit two copies of your transcripts: one copy in the native language, and one copy translated into English. • Submit recommendation forms from your current English teacher, math teacher and Principal or Guidance Counselor. • Submit a copy of your passport or birth certificate. • International students are asked to submit TOEFL, IELTS, ELTis, SLATE standardized test scores, if available. • For additional requirements and entrance exam testing information for all grade levels, please visit montverde.org/application process.
