Free travel to the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships by train and by bus – fast, comfortable and sustainable

The GAP 2011 admission ticket, your free train/bus ticket to the festival in the snow

As a holder of a GAP 2011 admission ticket, you will be eligible to travel free on all local trains (2nd class/economy class) within the whole of and the whole of Tyrol on the day of validity. As fas as Bavaria is concerned, this is also applicable - next to local trains of the Deutsche Bahn (DB) - to trains of the Bayerischen Regiobahn, the Bayerische Oberlandbahn as well as to ALEX-trains.

Area of validity: • Free travel within Bavaria on local trains (RB, RE, IRE and S-Bahn) of the Deutsche Bahn (2nd class) • Free travel on local transport of the ÖBB within Tyrol (2nd class) • Free travel on the ICE Innsbruck–Garmisch-Partenkirchen (2nd class, Sat, Feb 12 and Sat, Feb 19, 2011) • on the chartered trains from Munich, Reutte and Innsbruck to Garmisch- Partenkirchen • on the suburban trains of the cities Munich and Nuremberg • on the trains of the Bayerische Oberlandbahn (Munich–Holzkirchen– Bayrischzell//Tegernsee) • on all trains of the Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) (Augsburg – Oberhausen – Augsburg Central Station – Geltendorf – Weilheim – Schongau and Eichstätt City – Ingolstadt Central Station – Augsburg)

• on all trains of the Arriva Länder-Express (Lindau/Oberstdorf – München und Hof – Regensburg – Landshut München) • within the valley section on the trains of the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn (between Garmisch-Partenkirchen Central Station and Eibsee) • on the buses from (line 9606) and (line 9608) of the RVO • on the shuttle-buses from Seefeld and Ehrwald • on all bus routes of the Gemeindewerke Garmisch-Partenkirchen * • on the bus route – Garmisch-Partenkirchen of the Eibsee VG • on all on-site shuttle-buses for spectators • on the Event-Shuttle-Lines open to the respective accreditation group

Arrival from outside of the specified area of validity: • If you want to travel to Garmisch-Partenkirchen from outside of the specified area of validity, you will be liable to pay for the fare on short-range public transportation up to an interchange station that lies within the area of validity (usually at the borders of Bavaria or Tyrol), from there your GAP 2011 admission ticket will serve as train/bus ticket!

Chartered trains: • During the World Championships, a considerable number of chartered trains from Munich, Augsburg, Reutte and Inssbruck to Garmisch-Partenkirchen will be in service.

Bus lines: • The frequency of regular bus lines such as bus number 2 within Garmisch- Partenkirchen as well as of buses from/to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (from e.g., Oberammergau, Wallgau, Seefeld or Lermoos) and within the region will be increased during the World Championships, timetables are available at our partners RVO, VVT, the Gemeindewerke and the Eibsee VG. • Special bus lines (Public Shuttle) will be in service adapted to the attendance of spectators and accredited persons. Buses will leave as soon as they are fully occupied, if not before.

Area of validity for accredited journalists and volunteers: • Free travel by request also when arriving on the weekend prior to February 7, 2011 within the abovementioned area of validity • Tickets can be requested beforehand via the media or volunteer department of the FIS Alpine Ski-WM Veranstaltungs GmbH specifying the point of departure within the area of validity.

Important information: • For the handicapped holding both a valid handicapped ID and a GAP 2011 admission ticket, the travel to GAP from within the area of validity is free of charge also for an accompanying person.

*Free bus rides for everyone in Garmisch-Partenkirchen During the entire event period, all busses of the existing local lines of the municipal utility as well as numerous additional spectator shuttle-busses can be used free of charge.
