■ Comunicado de prensa ■ Los mejores riders internacionales participarán en la Copa del Mundo de snowboard cross de La Molina Los días 2 y 3 de marzo, la estación del Grup FGC acogerá la octava prueba del circuito de Copa del Mundo FIS de snowboard cross (SBX) La prueba contará con la presencia de 78 deportistas de 17 países (25 mujeres y 53 hombres), entre los que destaca la participación de los actuales líderes de la categoría masculina y femenina: Pierre Vaultier (Francia) y Michela Moioli (Italia). Además del rider de la RFEDI Regino Hernández, actual medalla de bronce en los JJOO de PyeongChang'18 La cita deportiva coincidirá con el Estima Fest, la fiesta de la celebración del 75 aniversario de La Molina El primer fin de semana de marzo, el border cross de Alabaus de La Molina será el escenario de la octava prueba del circuito de Copa del Mundo FIS de snowboard cross. El viernes se disputarán las rondas clasificatorias, en la que se decidirá quienes serán los 32 hombres y las 16 mujeres que pasarán a la final. El sábado los snowboarders tomarán la salida de las mangas eliminatorias en grupos de cuatro, en una pista que incluye peraltes, saltos y dubbies y donde es importante la técnica, la velocidad y la estrategia, y donde está permitido un cierto contacto. Los más rápidos en estas rondas llegarán a la gran final, resultado que les permitirá mejorar posiciones en el ranking del circuito de Copa del Mundo. 17 países y 78 riders Esta Copa del Mundo llevará a La Molina la élite internacional del snowboard cross. -

Se ci pensiamo, dopo ogni momento di crisi c’è stato un momento di crescita e di rilancio. Sarà così anche adesso. La spinta che ci muove è l’orgoglio e la voglia di non soccombere e di non lasciarsi vincere. Intanto, VAL continua il suo percorso per rendere valore ai nostri luoghi e alla nostra gente. Per questa ragione abbiamo dedicato un articolo ai volontari che in Valle hanno garantito nei due mesi terribili i servizi essenziali e il primo soccorso. -

Sports of The Winter Olympics: Snowboarding The Sport Packet #10 Halfpipe Competitors take off from the halfpipe’s rim, performing challenging aerial maneuvers, including flips, twists and spins. They complete each trick by traveling back and forth between the halfpipe’s walls. Athletes complete two runs. The event takes place in a semi-circular ditch, or half of a pipe, dug into the surface of a hill. The halfpipe is typically 110 meters long with 3 to 4 meter deep vertical sides, each on an 85 degree rounded slope. The width from wall to wall is 13 meters to 15 meters. The format for the men and women’s event is the same. Parallel Giant Slalom Two competitors race simultaneously side by side down two courses. They take two runs, switching sides after the first one. The setting of the courses, the configura- tion of the ground and the preparation of the snow must be as identical as possible. The format is the same for the men and women’s event. The vertical drop of the course must be between 120 meters and 200 meters. The number of turns should be equal to 11 percent to 15 percent of the vertical drop in meters. Athletes must navigate around gates, which are 20 meters to 25 meters apart. A gate consists of two poles - one outside pole and one turning pole. Triangular banners are fastened between the poles so lower edges of the flag touch the snow. The banner is 110 cm tall on its long side and 25 cm tall on the short side; its base length is 130 cm. -

Fischer According to research on sports media, reporters have both gender and racial biases. Women are marginalized in the media (Billings, Halone, & Denham, 2002), and athletes are stereotyped based on race (Banet-Weiser, 1999). These depictions affect the public’s image of athletics and particular athletes. White males are offered both more media attention and more salient coverage (Banet-Weiser, 1999; Billings, Halone, & Denham, 2002). Women are characterized for non-task behaviors (Billings, Halone, & Denham, 2002), and minority groups’ behaviors are generalized (Banet-Weiser, 1999).
