With the rise of rural house prices in recent years and the lack of available properties, local people are being forced to move away from their community in order to find housing they can afford. Daventry District has a growing population, to add to this the structure and size of households is also changing. When new households are formed or circumstances change, people may find their home unsuitable and it is therefore important that there is an adequate amount of housing to accommodate their needs. The provision of affordable housing is high on Daventry District Council’s agenda, as part of our vision to build a better district it is prioritised under the objective: “Healthy, Safe and Strong Communities and Individuals”. To this end the Council has been undertaking a rolling programme of affordable housing provision, which is based on robust evidence of housing need and local information – provided by Housing Needs Surveys. This report summarises the findings of the Housing Needs Survey in Holdenby Parish, undertaken in March/April 2012. Strategic and Planning Context Daventry District Council has a number of policies and strategies to help deliver housing in both planning policy and housing strategy terms.

There have been some major changes recently to how council services are being delivered in your area – and we’d like to know how to keep you updated with news and information about them. Your new West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) launched in April, replacing the previous councils covering Daventry, Northampton and South Northamptonshire and bringing services for all these areas under one roof, from housing, planning, highways and bin collections to education, social care and public health. Exploring the fourth environment: Young people’s use of place and views on their environment Introduction The purpose of this guide is to individually outline each of the study areas which feature in the ‘Exploring the fourth environment: young people’s use of place and views on their local environment’ project. The project was based in three contrasting types of locality across Northamptonshire and the work was carried out between October 1996 and September 1999. The guide is set out in the following sections: Section 1: Project Aims, Objectives and Methods of Research Page 1 - 5 -Includes a project publications list Section 2: Data Collection Summary Tables Page 6 - 9 -This section provides a detailed breakdown of exactly where and how the information was collected, sample sizes and/or data availability. Note that not all study areas were used in all aspects of the project work. Section 3: Database and Transcription File Matrices Page 10 - 14 -This section provides a detailed breakdown of all the relevant files/file types that are associated with the analysis of the data. There are two types of file that are listed. Database files (used to analyse the collective results of the individual questionnaire based surveys) are listed as ***.SAV files. These files are useable with SPSS (6.1 for Windows or above). Text files (used for the transcription of interviews) are listed as ***.DOC files. They can be accessed using MS Word 6.0 for Windows or above. (North at the top). Immediately to the east the ground falls away steeply into a deep valley and to the south is another steep-sided tributary valley. The castle thus has a superb commanding site with extensive views to the N, E, and S, and only on the W and NW are there no natural obstacles.     West Northamptonshire Five Year Housing Land Supply Position Statement and Reports Published: July 2021 West Northamptonshire Land Supply Position Statement 1. Context 1.1 West Northamptonshire Council was created on 1st April 2021 and became the local planning authority for the area previously covered by three local planning authorities, i.e. Daventry District Council, Northampton Borough Council, and South Northamptonshire Council. The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) (February 2019) sets out a requirement for local planning authorities to demonstrate a five year supply of housing against their housing requirement. 1.2 This statement explains how the five year housing land requirement will be calculated for the new local planning authority. 2. National Policy and Practice Guidance 2.1 Paragraph 73 of the NPPF states that: “….Local planning authorities should identify and update annually a supply of specific deliverable sites sufficient to provide a minimum of five years’ worth of housing against their housing requirement set out in adopted strategic policies, or against their local housing need where the strategic policies are more than five years old1…” 2.2 More detailed guidance on how the housing requirement is calculated for the purpose of the five year housing land supply is provided in Planning Practice Guidance (PPG). This includes the following specific guidance for new local planning authorities created through local government reorganisation: “How is 5 year housing land supply calculated in new local planning authorities which result from a local government reorganisation? Planning policies adopted by predecessor authorities will remain part of the development plan for their area upon reorganisation, until they are replaced by adopted successor authority policies or until the fifth anniversary of reorganisation.
