Subway’s $5 Footlong may soon be a thing of the past at your local store. CEO Trevor Haynes told USA Today each individual franchise owner can choose whether to offer the option. The change takes effect this month. The $5 Footlong had been off the menu for years when Subway gave it a second life last winter. However, a lot of franchisees weren't happy. They complained about the narrow profit margins that came with the deal. The chain is pushing franchise owners to experiment with their own value deals based on business costs. I had gotten this information on USAToday.https://wgme.com/news/offbeat/subways-5-footlong-may-be-going-away-for- good I feel that they shouldn't get rid of 5-dollar footlongs because it was a simple way to get yourself a healthy meal without spending so much money. I feel like they shouldn't get rid of the 5-dollar footlong it’s been around for so long some people don't have enough money to buy a sandwich so subway made them cheaper and now they’re taking it away.
