NFL UPDATE

As the 2016 NFL season kicks off, the will take center stage.

The future is bright at the position as more than half of ’s projected Week 1 starters (64.5 percent, 20 of 31*) enter the season under 30 years old.

Among the expected Week 1 starting quarterbacks, four will be making their first career start. Two are rookies – of Dallas and of – appearing in their first NFL game while the other two will make their first starts in primetime – Denver’s (Thursday, September 8, 8:30 PM ET, NBC) and New England’s (Sunday, September 11, 8:30 PM ET, NBC).

Meanwhile, veteran quarterback of the Saints is the league’s most experienced Week 1 starter as he enters his 16th NFL season.

There are currently 85 quarterbacks on active NFL rosters. And while 26 were drafted in the first round (30.6 percent), 14 went undrafted (16.5 percent).
