ANDREW ROOKE

Chief Operating Officer , Inc. Crown Media Family Networks

Andy Rooke is the chief operating officer of Crown Media Family Networks, home of three linear networks, , Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and ; subscription video-on-demand streaming service, Hallmark Movies Now; and publishing division, Hallmark Publishing. Rooke is based in the company’s Los Angeles office and reports to President & CEO Wonya Lucas.

In this role, Rooke has responsibility for Crown Media’s corporate strategy and business development; leads the company’s non-cable business units, including SVOD, international, publishing, home entertainment, and licensing; and oversees all financial, administrative, technical and operational functions.

Rooke joined Crown Media in 2011 as chief financial officer and was named evp, operations and chief financial officer in 2015. In his former role, Rooke led the development and execution of the company’s strategic business model, initiating and building out many of its new businesses, while providing leadership for all financial, administrative, technology, and operational functions

A veteran in the media and entertainment industry, Rooke has over 30 years of financial and management experience. Before joining Crown Media Family Networks, he served as the chief financial officer at 20th Television, the domestic television syndication division of News Corp, where he oversaw all finance and accounting activities, management of IT, program distribution, and production administration functions.

Rooke joined 20th Television from MySpace, another News Corp division, where he led the finance function during a period of tenfold growth. He also ran the worldwide Fox Group internal audit practice where he was responsible for bringing the organization into compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley legislation as well as improving controls across the enterprise.

Rooke started his career with a small chartered accountancy practice in London before transferring to Touche Ross (now Deloitte) where he focused on providing general accounting, finance, audit, tax, and planning services to middle-market companies in the music industry. In 1991, Rooke transferred to Deloitte’s Los Angeles office, where he specialized in performing forensic audits on behalf of intellectual property owners. From 1993 to 2001, Rooke held various financial positions within Warner Bros, including Controller for the consumer products division and vice president of finance, audit & advisory services.

Rooke is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He graduated from Durham University in England with a B.S. degree in Mathematics.
