Manly Council ollowing the success of the 2009 and 2010 editions of the Guide, it is with great pleasure that we present the 2011 Seniors and Care Guide. The aim ofF this publication is to help you access a wide choice of services and activities appropriate for seniors in your local area. It covers a range of topics including leisure activities, health services and home support. The Guide has been developed as a joint project between Manly, Pittwater and Warringah Councils and the publisher, Seniors & Care Guide. In today’s fast paced world relying on family members can be difficult. Work and family commitments often mean time is limited or not available at all. In response to this common dilemma, Councils have taken ‘on board’ the responsibility to provide useful information guides to help seniors, and their families and carers, Harvey Rose with decisions that may need to be made now or in the future.     Local Government Boundaries Commission 1. Summary of Local Government Boundaries Commission comments The Boundaries Commission has reviewed the Delegate’s Report on the proposed merger of Pittwater Council and part of Warringah Council to determine whether it shows the legislative process has been followed and the Delegate has taken into account all the factors required under the Local Government Act 1993 (the Act). The Commission has assessed that: the Delegate’s Report shows that the Delegate has undertaken all the processes required by section 263 of the Act, the Delegate’s Report shows that the Delegate has adequately considered all the factors required by section 263(3) of the Act, with the exception of the factors listed under subsections 263(3)(e2) (employment impacts) and 263(3)(e5) (diverse communities), and the Delegate’s recommendation in relation to the proposed merger is supported by the Delegate’s assessment of these factors. 2. Summary of the merger proposal On 6 January 2016, the Minister for Local Government referred a proposal to merge the local government areas of Pittwater Council and part of Warringah Council to the Acting Chief Executive of the Office of Local Government for examination and report under the Act. The following map shows the proposed new council area (shaded in green).     Private and Public Bus Information Transport to and from Campus 2019 Students can travel to and from the School campus on the School's own private buses or on the public/government bus services. The Pittwater House bus system allows us to know who is on our buses at all times. This system offers considerable advantages in the event of an emergency or where we need to communicate with parents quickly. It is a condition of use of the School’s private buses that Pittwater House Student Cards are scanned upon boarding and alighting the bus. Private Bus Services The School runs five buses around areas of the North Shore and the Northern Beaches to assist many of our students who are not conveniently served by commercial or government services. The morning bus service drops students at the Westmoreland Avenue entrance. A teacher on duty escorts students from the Junior Schools to buses in Westmoreland Avenue and the South Creek Road car park each afternoon. Costs The costs per trip (including GST) for 2019 are set at the following rates: Fare Type Cost Booked Fare $4.50 per trip This is a flat rate fare with no discount for siblings. Booked Casual Fare $8.00 per trip This fare applies ONLY where a casual booking has been made using Skoolbag at least 1 working day prior to the journey and you have received a confirmation from the school that this booking has been received and a seat is available. Only three casual bookings can be made at one time. The same days booked every week will be deemed to be a booked fare.

At the collaborators’ meeting for the Early ECV Trial in June 2002, the trial findings were first discussed, and collaborators unanimously agreed that a second, larger trial was required. They felt that although the findings of the Early ECV Trial were encouraging, evidence was required to demonstrate that beginning ECV early would decrease the rate of Caesarean section and to rule out any increased risk of adverse fetal or neonatal outcomes. Therefore with a lot of hard work and co-operation from all of you, our proposal for a larger Early External Cephalic Version Trial was completed and submitted to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Our application will compete in the April 2003 Randomized Controlled Trials competition and funding decisions will be announced in the fall of this year. We have had a very enthusiastic response to the Early ECV 2 trial. In total more than 80 letters of support were received. Welcome on board everyone!     Communication licences Fact sheet Communication licence rent In November 2018, the NSW Premier had the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) undertake a review of Rental arrangements for communication towers on Crown land. In November 2019, IPART released its final report to the NSW Government. To provide certainty to tenure holders while the government considers the report, implementation of any changes to the current fee structure will apply from the next renewal or review on or after 1 July 2021. In the interim, all communication tenures on Crown land will be managed under the 2013 IPART fee schedule, or respective existing licence conditions, adjusted by the consumer price index where applicable. In July 2014, the NSW Government adopted all 23 recommendations of the IPART 2013 report, including a rental fee schedule. Visit www.ipart.nsw.gov.au to see the IPART 2013 report. Density classification and rent calculation The annual rent for communication facilities located on a standard site depends on the type of occupation and the location of the facilities. In line with the IPART 2013 report recommendations, NSW is divided into four density classifications, and these determine the annual rent for each site. Table 1 defines these classifications. Annexure A further details the affected local government areas and urban centres and localities (UCLs) of the classifications. Figure 1 shows the location of the classifications. A primary user of a site who owns and maintains the communication infrastructure will incur the rent figures in Table 2. A co-user of a site will be charged rent of 50% that of a primary user.

    NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research Bureau Brief Issue paper no. 88 July 2013 The Great Property Crime Drop: A regional analysis Don Weatherburn and Jessie Holmes Aim: To describe and discuss regional variation between parts of NSW in the rate at which theft and robbery offences have fallen. Method: Percentage changes in rates of offending in robbery and various categories of theft were calculated for the period 2000 to 2012. Changes in the extent to which rates of crime across areas have become more similar were quantified by comparing the standard deviation in crime rates across areas in 2000 to the standard deviation in crime rates in 2012. Product moment calculations were used to measure (a) the extent to which areas with high crime rates in 2000 also had high crime rates in 2012 and (b) the extent to which areas with the highest crime rates in 2000 had the largest falls in crime in 2012. Results: The fall in property crime and robbery across NSW between 2000 and 2012 has been very uneven; being much larger in Sydney and other urban areas than in rural areas. The fall in theft offence rates ranges from 62 per cent in the Sydney Statistical Division (SD) to 5.9 per cent in the Northern SD. Similarly, the fall in robbery rates ranges from 70.8 per cent in the Sydney SD to 21.9 per cent in the Northern SD. In some areas some offences actually increased. The Murray, Northern, Murrumbidgee, North Western, Hunter and Central West SDs, for example, all experienced an increase in steal from a retail store.
