Los hallará en el flujo de los ríos, en la fuerza de las corrientes oceánicas y en el impulso de los vientos alisios. Está escrita en las huellas de antiguos caminos que surcaron las carretas y en las estelas de vapor que se dejaron a miles de pies de altura. Llevamos el comercio a todos los lugares donde nos aventuramos; una herramienta tan fundamental para nuestro progreso como todo vehículo. 3 El comercio siempre nos conectó. No obstante, no vino libre de obstáculos. Como si atravesar continentes escarpados y cruzar vastos mares inexplorados no fuera lo suficientemente desafiante, hoy en día también debemos aprender a abrirnos camino en un mundo de panoramas de pagos en constante cambio. Esto requiere saldar la brecha entre fronteras geográficas y generacionales, seguir las más recientes tendencias de consumo e innovaciones tecnológicas, y tener la prudencia para anticipar lo que nos espera más allá del horizonte. No es una tarea fácil. Es por eso que creamos el Informe de pagos globales 2020. Aquí, exploraremos las diferencias y, más a menudo, las similitudes entre las naciones del mundo, para así descubrir el impacto de la geografía y de la tecnología, de las sociedades y de las economías. Descubriremos el entretejido entre las formas de pago y el intercambio de bienes y de servicios, de ideas y de innovaciones, no solo en sus respectivos países, sino también a medida que traspasaron fronteras y barreras para hacer posible el comercio global. Pero más que un documento sobre los avances históricos del comercio, este informe se centra en las posibilidades que depara el futuro. Estamos expectantes ante el progreso del Sudeste Asiático, la influencia de la Generación Z y el creciente toque personal de los pagos de cuenta a cuenta. Las formas en que pagamos surgen de nuestras culturas, hábitos e innovaciones, y de la tecnología que tenemos a nuestro alcance. Cada combinación de medios de pago surge de esas circunstancias locales únicas: económicas, políticas, normativas, de infraestructura, de idioma y de cultura. Las preferencias de pago son tan diversas como la gente que hace uso de ellas. Pero incluso en la estela de cambio, encontramos tendencias globales que atraviesan el universo del comercio. En 2020, la tendencia más marcada entre las preferencias de pago del consumidor sigue siendo el auge de las billeteras móviles. Estas simplifican la compra online como nunca antes y ya lideran las preferencias de pago en eCommerce con el 42 % del gasto en 2019 bajo su haber (obtuvo el 36 % en 2018). China mantiene el primer puesto en lo que respecta al uso de billeteras móviles y digitales, que representan un notable 71 % del gasto en eCommerce, pero la adopción de esta alternativa está en alza en todas partes: el 32 % del gasto en eCommerce en la India, el 25 % en Alemania y el 24 % en EE. UU. Las billeteras móviles también están transformando los pagos en el punto de venta: más de 1000 millones de compradores harán un pago con billetera móvil/ digital en 2020.1 Desde aplicaciones específicas para minoristas hasta billeteras emitidas por instituciones financieras, fabricantes de dispositivos electrónicos y plataformas tecnológicas, las billeteras móviles proporcionan comodidad y seguridad a los consumidores y empresas de todo el mundo. El teléfono inteligente se está convirtiendo en la nueva billetera y muchos consumidores optan por cargar sus tarjetas preferidas en su teléfono en lugar de llevar la tarjeta física con ellos. Esto está generando grandes cambios en su adopción global para el pago en el punto de venta: del 16 % en 2018 al 22 % en 2019. En China, donde dominan las billeteras móviles/digitales Alipay, de Ant Financial, y WeChat Pay, de Tencent, los pagos móviles por proximidad con código QR se adjudicaron casi la mitad (el 48 %) de los pagos en el punto de venta en 2019. La adopción desmesurada de las billeteras digitales y móviles en el punto de venta en China sigue siendo algo atípico si se compara con el resto del mundo, pero es claro que la tendencia global sigue el mismo camino. Las billeteras móviles y digitales ya representan el 22 % del gasto global en el punto de venta para 2019 y pronosticamos que representarán casi un tercio (30 %) de los pagos del consumidor en un plazo de 5 años. 7 Fuera de China, la gente suele referirse a las billeteras móviles y digitales más populares como los “pay”. Hasta hace poco, la terna incluía a Apple Pay, Google Pay y Samsung Pay. Pero ahora esos favoritos deben competir con otro “pay”: Amazon Pay. Amazon informa un crecimiento del 59 % en comerciantes activos y un 103 % en los ingresos totales entre 2017 y 2018; todos los mercados de Amazon Pay a nivel global ostentan un crecimiento de dos dígitos.2 Como cierre del análisis del eCommerce, cabe aclarar que la creciente adopción de las billeteras digitales y móviles que pronosticamos de aquí a fines de 2023 proviene en gran medida de la disminución gradual del uso presencial de las tarjetas de crédito, de débito, de cargos y de débito diferido. Los contrarrembolsos, las tarjetas de prepago y los servicios pospago siguen desempeñando un papel fundamental en algunos mercados, pero es probable que su participación global disminuya paulatinamente de aquí a fines de 2023. El único otro medio de pago online para el que pronosticamos un aumento de participación de mercado es el “compre ahora, pague después” —ofrecido entre otros por Affirm, Afterpay y Klarna—, que satisface a aquellos consumidores que prefieren la inmediatez de esta alternativa. Pronosticamos que estos servicios recaudarán casi el 3 % del gasto global en eCommerce para 2023. Creemos que se realizarán más transacciones de forma digital en el punto de venta, lo que provocaría una mayor caída en el uso del efectivo. Pronosticamos un modesto incremento global en el uso de tarjetas de crédito y de débito en el punto de venta. La región se apoyó en gran medida en la estabilidad y la conveniencia de su consolidada infraestructura de pagos, lo que contribuyó a fomentar una cultura de hábitos de pago predecibles. Esto, sin embargo, también propició una arraigada dependencia de las tarjetas de crédito y débito, y creó el potencial para un eventual cambio rotundo. Tras décadas de uso habitual, los consumidores norteamericanos desarrollaron una fuerte apego a las tarjetas de crédito. Son la preferencia de pago líder en compras de eCommerce y representan un tercio del gasto online. En vista de que las billeteras móviles y digitales siguen integrándose en la experiencia de pago y la necesidad de tener tarjetas físicas disminuye, nuestras estimaciones indican que el uso de las tarjetas de crédito en el eCommerce disminuirá gradualmente hasta alcanzar el 27 % del gasto del consumidor para 2023. En el punto de venta, las tarjetas de crédito mantienen su extenso período de supremacía con el 40 % del gasto del consumidor en 2019.

    NSPK JSC Annual Report for 2019 The Audit Commission of the National Payment Card System Overview Joint-Stock Company (hereinafter, NSPK JSC) completed the audit of the business and financial performance of NSPK JSC for 2019 on May 18, 2020. Following the audit results, the auditor report on reliability of data contained in the annual report and in the annual accounting (financial) statements of NSPK JSC for 2019 was prepared for the sole shareholder. The NSPK JSC Annual Report for 2019 was preliminarily approved by the NSPK JSC Supervisory Board on 26.06.2020 (Minutes of Meeting No.46 dated 26.06.2020). The NSPK JSC Annual Report for 2019 was approved by resolution No.21 dated 03.07.2020 of the sole shareholder of NSPK JSC.
