LTD. Is a Canadian Company, owned by Indian businessmen GURMEET SINGH and ASHIT PATEL. BOMBAY primary business objective is to grow the interest in cricket around the world, specifically the highly competitive T20 cricket format. GURMEET SINGH, Chairman for TTMS (Tirumala Tirupati Multistate Credit Society), is an entrepreneur whose life story is nothing short of a fairy-tale. Born in Punjab and shifted to Mumbai in his youth to pursue his cricket career, went on to represent Punjab, Mumbai and many domestic teams at all tiers of cricketing excellence, and ending at East West Airlines as a player cum employee. Deciding to call time on his playing career to focus on the other aspects of his life, was not an easy decision, but turned out to be a very fruitful one. A few years ago, Mr. Singh returned to his greatest passion that is cricket, but this time not a player but a man who would go on to help develop and promote the game. It is his way of giving back to the game that led him to the path he is on. ASHIT PATEL is an expert in finance and business strategy. His key areas of specialization are Business Development, Strategy Formulation and Implementation, Organizational Restructuring and Mergers and Acquisitions. Born and raised in a Gujarati Family in Mumbai he played Cricket, Hockey, Football, Table Tennis and Chess at school and college. An excellent public speaker and his presence ensures GT20 grows by leaps and bounds. His sense of looking at the future, suggesting what strategies to follow, vast experience and formulating growth plans will add a lot of help to the League. SINGH and PATEL own 2 highly coveted T20 leagues, the Global T20 Canada which is registered under BOMBAY Sports Company Ltd, and the Euro T20 Slam (tri-nation franchise based T20 tournament, having 2 Franchises each from Netherlands, Scotland and Ireland). Registered under EURO T20 SLAM LTD, They work with the respective Cricket Associations in each host country and both leagues are ICC approved. Together, SINGH and PATEL saw the need to showcase cricket in multi-cultural communities that traditionally only get to see the "stars" of the game on television. Much like the UN, the ICC brings representatives from all cricket-playing countries together to make administrative decisions about the future of cricket. Unlike the UN, however, not all countries have an equal input; the ICC decides which members are worthy of “Test” status (Full Members), and which are not (Associate Members). While the Council has experienced many successes, including hosting the prestigious World Cup and promoting cricket at a grassroots level, it also continues to receive its fair share of criticism, predominantly regarding the ICC’s perceived obstruction of the growth of the game within non- traditionally cricketing nations and prioritizing the commercialization of the sport over globalizing it.
