2020 High School Football Season to Feature New Look 2020 High School Football Season to Feature New Look Table oF CoNteNtS By Kyle Knight, BAS Sports Network HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Sports Director of Eagle 99 and 92.1 The WOLF Ottawa County HS Schedules 4 - 5 We are obviously living in historic times and experiencing a pandemic that Sandusky County HS Schedules 5 - 8 never crossed our minds last year at this time. The virus wiped out most of Seneca County HS Schedules 10-11 the winter sports state championships and the entire spring sports schedule. However, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine gave the go ahead for all fall sports in Mid-Ohio HS Schedules 12-15 a press conference on Tuesday, August 18th. Morrow County HS Schedules 12 This season will look very diff erent in the following ways: 1) Limited fans in attendance at high school sporting events. Delaware County HS Schedules 12-15 2) A six game high school football season, followed by a playoff of all schools Knox County HS Schedules 14-15 who participate this season. Huron County HS Schedules 16-17 3) Many major cities opting out of fall sports and moving their seasons to the spring. Erie County HS Schedules 18-19 There have even been issues in scheduling high school football broadcasts on the B.A.S. Sports Network due to many schools limiting press box space. RADIO STATION BROADCASTS: We will have to be fl exible as the season continues and hope we reach the fi nish line. Thus the new look of this year’s guide. We have decided to publish the Eagle 99 HS Football Season 8 football guide this year online only due to the constant changes this season is 92.1 The Wolf HS Football Season 5 likely to see on and off the fi eld. There has also been a historic change to our line-up of veteran play-by-play 1600/93.3 WTTF HS Football Season 9 broadcasters. WLEC’s Mark Fogg retired in the spring of 2020 as the long time 1300/100.9 WMVO HS Football Season 12 Sports Director and Morning Man on WLEC. Mark will be back, however, on the Coast Country 100.9 HS FB Season 16 radio this fall broadcasting games on 1450 AM and 93.5 FM. Troy Baumgartner has replaced Mark as the Sports Director of WLEC, WCPZ and WMJK. 1450/93.5 WLEC HS Football Season 18 The great news is you can tune into the B.A.S. Sports Network this season to hear your favorite schools and conferences. You’ll fi nd the broadcast schedules for all of our stations in this online guide. PRO FOOTBALL GAMES: We hope to see more historic runs to Canton like we saw last season from the Cleveland Browns 20 Clyde Fliers, who won their second state championship in school history. • Press Release Buy Local 1-25-21
PRESS RELEASE BAS Broadcasting Inc announces a new exclusive companywide Buy Local campaign! Since 2004 BAS Broadcasting stations have reminded listeners to Be Smart, Buy Local! January 18th, 2021 BAS Broadcasting stations launched a brand-new companywide Buy Local campaign called Think Big Shop Small, it will help us all! The campaign will air for a full year on all BAS terrestrial and Internet stations. BAS Broadcasting is locally owned and operates 11 terrestrial radio stations and 8 internet stations, all located in Ohio. Tom “TK” Klein President/CEO/Owner of BAS says, “that when combined, our station’s coverage blankets the area East and West between Toledo and Cleveland, and North and South between Lake Erie and Columbus.” Klein went on to say, “We super serve 17 counties that are home to over 1.5 million residents and annually draw ten to twelve million tourists annually to regional attractions like Cedar Point and Lake Erie. “Klein said “Given the pandemic and the toll it took on local business, we felt it was important to re-launch our efforts to encourage our listeners and our community to buy local.” Klein said, “Each dollar spent at a local business returns an average of 3X’s more money to our own community than spending at a chain or big box store.” Small Businesses are the heartbeat of our local economy.” BAS Broadcasting operates stations that are deeply entrenched in their communities. Each station features a mass appeal music format, local veteran announcers, and a heavy coverage of local news, sports, and weather.
