The attendance was by far the highest for many years and welcomed new faces to the community and some older ones back to the fold.

It was difficult to count the nationalities in the room but fantastic to see so many.

In this association, teams are fielded by Blinman, Copley, Hawker and Leigh Creek.

The day commenced with a Junior match where twenty six children from seven to fourteen took to the field.

The senior grand final saw Copley bat first and they made 145 runs. Tyren Austin topped scored for Copley with 26 runs and Brett Holland was the best of Leigh Creek’s bowlers taking 4 for 25 off 8 overs.

Leigh Creek went into bat as thunder clouds gathered overhead, and as the 5th over commenced down came the rain! All 30ml of it!

At that stage Leigh Creek were 2 for 4, with Damian Williams and Chris Gale taking a wicket each.

Needless to say that was the end of the cricket- and the social side of the game started!
