SECTION NUMBERS R-21 1 of 1 August 2, 1984 Purpose: The following is a listing of approved section numbers as of the approval date below. The Registrar reserves the right to add or discontinue section numbers as necessary. Only major revisions in the structure below will be presented to the Academic Council for approval.

Section Numbers: Description: 1 – 30 Reserved for day classes. For regular semesters numbering should begin at 01 and increase by one for each section of a course offered. For Summer Sessions section numbers may be linked to specific meeting times. 31 Reserved for CSU students who are “Cross-Registered” at the of Charleston. 32 Reserved for CSU students who are “Cross-Registered” at . 33 Reserved for CSU students who are “Cross-Registered” at Trident Technical College. 34 Reserved for CSU students who are “Cross-Registered” at MUSC. 35 Reserved for CSU students who are granted permission (by exception) to attend a non-consortium institution as a part of their academic load. 36 Study Abroad Exchange Student registration at foreign institution. 37 CSU Foreign Language placement test 38 - 39 Reserved for future offerings 40 – 49 Reserved for Internet offerings. Section 40 is for an “Internet Only” format. Section 41 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Monday; 42 beginning on a Tuesday; 43 beginning on a Wednesday; 44 beginning on a Thursday; 45 is for an “Internet Only” format course offered Accelerated I for CAPS students; 46 is for an “Internet Only” format course offered Accelerated II for CAPS students; 47 is for an “Internet Only” format course offered for a full term for CAPS students; 48 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Friday; 49 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Saturday.

50 Reserved for Honors Program 51, 53 – 59 Reserved for future offerings. 52 Reserved for ELR credit courses; including domestic and global travel classes. 60 Reserved for all Evening Sections offered in an Interterm or Maymester session. 61 – 64 Reserved for regular, one night per week, evening courses (6:00 p.m. or later). Monday class: 61, Tuesday class: 62, Wednesday class: 63, Thursday class: 64. Reserved for regular, two nights per week, evening courses (6:00 p.m. or later) Monday and Wednesday: 613; Tuesday and Thursday: 624 65 Grand Strand – Myrtle Beach Campus classes. 66 HGTC – Myrtle Beach (Grand Strand Campus C. J. Program) 67 CCU – Conway (Grand Strand Campus C. J. Program) 68 On-line course for Grand Strand Students. 69 Classes meeting at 7:00a.m. 70 – 74 Reserved for full session evening classes that are compatible with accelerated evening classes. 6:00 - 7:20 T and R: 70; 6:00 – 7:59 M, T, and R: 71; 8:00- 10:00 M, T, and R: 72. 75 – 80 Reserved for accelerated courses that meet on M, T and R. Accelerated I regular week-nights: 6:00 – 7:50: 76, 8:00 – 9:50: 77, Saturday meetings: 75. Accelerated II regular week-nights: 6:00 – 7:50: 78, 8:00 – 9:50: 79, Saturday classes: 80. 81 – 89 Reserved for future offerings. 90 Reserved for graduate classes that have “flexible” meeting times. 91 – 98; 100-105 Reserved for day laboratory sections. Lab section offerings begin with 91 and increase by one for each additional section offered for a co-requisite course. 99 Reserved to identify courses and students under an “independent study” format. 401-402 Reserved for Accelerated Internet offerings for traditional students. Section 401 is for an “Internet Only” format offered Accelerated I and Section 402 is for an “Internet Only” format offered Accelerated II. 411- 492 Reserved for Accelerated Internet offerings for graduate students. Section 411 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Monday offered Accelerated I; 421 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Tuesday offered Accelerated I; Section 431 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Wednesday offered Accelerated I; Section 441 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Thursday offered Accelerated I; 481 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Friday offered Accelerated I; 491 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Saturday offered Accelerated I. Section 412 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Monday offered Accelerated II; 422 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Tuesday offered Accelerated II; Section 432 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Wednesday offered Accelerated II; Section 442 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Thursday offered Accelerated II; 482 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Friday offered Accelerated II; 492 is for an “Internet & Class” format beginning on a Saturday offered Accelerated II.
