(2) How many students have participated in the instrumental music program in the years referred to in (1)? (3) Will the minister list the schools currently participating in the program? Because children on the autism spectrum have difficulties with communication, socialisation and behaviour, families often feel especially stigmatised and crave for more understanding from society.

Specialised Learning Programs for Students with ASD Specialised Learning Programs (SLP) for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) support the individual needs of students with ASD from Kindergarten to Year 12 who are at risk of disengagement, underachievement and/or significant difficulties with adaptive behaviour. The programs target students who do not have an intellectual disability with a focus on year level or near year level academic engagement and achievement, organisational skills, social cognition development, positive peer relationships and emotional self-regulation. The school commenced in 2013 and provides K-6 education for students transitioning to secondary education. Students from Pearsall Primary School mainly attend Wanneroo Secondary College or enrol in local Government and Non-Government schools. The school infrastructure is modern and provides excellent facilities to meet curriculum delivery requirements, outdoor play and structured learning activities in an appealing environment. There are four learning blocks, a library and teaching areas to cater for specialist programs in science, music, physical education and French. The outdoor environment has been supplemented by a sustainability garden, an outdoor classroom and additional shade to play areas. The school’s index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage (ICSEA) at 1058 is reflective of the community and similar to nearby schools. The student population is considerably diverse.
