This creates air chambers, between the foam, which insulate the wearer during periods of low physical activity. During periods of high physical activity the membrane, where the foam dots are printed, expands into the spaces between the 3D foam dots causing the textile to get closer to the skin which re- duces heat insulation, and increases perspiration removal and breathability by the hydrophilic membrane.
