Wirral Line Info Page Temp Landscape_City page 3.qxd 04/05/2018 14:51 Page 1 Wirral Line Temporary Timetable 2 June to 29 July 2018 From Saturday 2 June to Sunday 29 July 2018, Liverpool Lime Street mainline station will be closed for the final phase of the refurbishment work, with mainline services significantly disrupted and City Line services running to/from Liverpool South Parkway. The closure will also affect some Merseyrail services. During the closure: • There are also timing changes to trains running between Chester/Ellesmere Port and Liverpool stations, with trains between Chester and Green Lane leaving up to five minutes earlier than usual and trains in the opposite direction arriving up to five minutes later than usual at stations between Hooton and Chester/Ellesmere Port. There will be a 30 minute frequency on the Ellesmere Port line throughout the day. • Trains between West Kirby/New Brighton and Liverpool are not affected during the closure. • Northern Line trains on the Southport – Liverpool – Hunts Cross line will operate to/from Liverpool South Parkway only, with a rail replacement bus service operating through to/from Hunts Cross. This will lead to some retiming of the service and the Monday to Friday additional peak journeys will not run. • There will also be some minor retiming to trains running on the Ormskirk and Kirkby lines, with early morning trains from Liverpool Central running earlier. On Sundays, trains from Kirkby will extend from Liverpool Central non-stop through to Liverpool South Parkway to increase the number of trains linking into mainline services. Efforts will be made to provide six carriage trains to maximise capacity and there will be additional staff at key stations to help passengers. During the period of the temporary timetable, on Monday 18 June 2018 the new station at Maghull North will open. This timetable includes times for the station but these will only apply once the station is open. The new station includes: • a staffed ticket office • on platform waiting rooms • step-free and lift access to both platforms • a passenger toilet • 156 car parking and motorbike spaces and cycle storage • planned charging points for electric vehicles wknbxs - Jun 18_wknbxs15.qxd 04/05/2018 10:28 Page 1 Showing all trains from West Kirby and New Brighton to Birkenhead and Liverpool Additional trains run between Hamilton Square and Liverpool Mondays to Saturdays 2 June to 28 July 2018 West Kirby 0551 0621 0651 0706 0721 36 51 06 Hoylake 0554 0624 0654 0709 0724 39 54 09 Manor Road 0556 0626 0656 0711 0726 41 56 11 Meols 0558 0628 0658 0713 0728 43 58 13 Moreton 0601 0631 0701 0716 0731 46 01 16 Leasowe 0603 0633 0703 0718 0733 48 03 18 THEN Bidston 0606 0636 0706 0721 0736 51 06 21 AT New Brighton 0553 - 0623 - 0653 - 0708 - 0723 - 0738 - 53 - 08 - 23 THESE Wallasey Grove Road 0557 - 0627 - 0657 - 0712 - 0727 - 0742 - 57 - 12 - 27 TIMES Wallasey Village 0559 - 0629 - 0659 - 0714 - 0729 - 0744 - 59 - 14 - 29 PAST Birkenhead North 0604 0609 0634 0639 0704 0709 0719 0724 0734 0739 0749 54 04 09 19 24 34 EACH Birkenhead Park 0606 0611 0636 0641 0706 0711 0721 0726 0736 0741 0751 56 06 11 21 26 36 HOUR Conway Park 0609 0614 0639 0644 0709 0714 0724 0729 0739 0744 0754 59 09 14 24 29 39 Hamilton Square 0611 0616 0641 0646 0711 0716 0726 0731 0741 0746 0756 01 11 16 26 31 41 James Street 0614 0619 0644 0649 0714 0719 0729 0734 0744 0749 0759 04 14 19 29 34 44 Moorfields 10 0616 0621 0646 0651 0716 0721 0731 0736 0746 0751 0801 06 16 21 31 36 46 Lime Street 10 0618 0623 0648 0653 0718 0723 0733 0738 0748 0753 0803 08 18 23 33 38 48 Liverpool Central 10 0620 0625 0650 0655 0720 0725 0735 0740 0750 0755 0805 10 20 25 35 40 50 continued on next page Code: 10 - Allow 10 minutes for connections between trains at this station. Directions Climb the steps up to the footbridge at Bidston train station and bear left. Descend the steps and continue down the footpath angling off to the right. Cross the bridge over the water. Turn right and head onto the signposted cycle path, marked by a big black sign with a tag on it. Cross the road by walking under the bridge, taking note of the graffiti on the left where the path turns into stones and gravel. Continue along the path. You will see a turn off to the left, but walk straight on. When you have been walking for about 10 minutes, with the train tracks to your right and marsh and vegetation to your left, the path will take a left. Bear right at the signpost to Bidston Moss, towards the big road bridges. Here you might like to take a detour by walking off the path to the left in order to look at the street art on some of the concrete bridge uprights. If you walk up towards the railway line in between the two road bridges, you will discover some large and interesting artworks. After exploring the artwork go back to the path and up the ramp towards the footbridge. Be aware that a lot of cyclists use this route, so keep an eye out. There is a left turn on the footbridge, but keep going straight across onto Bidston Moss. You should see a sign post on the right hand side welcoming you to the Moss. Follow the footpath downhill around to the left which will lead you on to a tarmac path.
