Incidents Update:

During the reporting period four natural disaster incidents was reported.

Central Region:

Logar Province: As per the initial information from Logar ANDMA, on the 3rd of June as a result of flood agricultural land and some shops were damaged in (Baboke village). No damages to the houses are reported yet. IOM is in touch with Logar ANDMA and other partners to find the realities on the ground and will coordinate the assessment if evident.

Eastern Region:

Nangarhar Province: On the 2nd of June, as per the reports from village elders, 2 houses were damaged due heavy storm in Kuz Kunar district (Char Qala village). An eleven year old child also reportedly died. The caseload has been referred to IRC for their possible intervention.

Kunar Province: On the 2nd of June, as per the reports from Kunar ANDMA, 40 families were affected by hail storm in four districts of (Dara-I-Pech, Sarkani, Narang, Asadabad districts). A joint assessment team consisted of IOM, ANDMA, IMC and WFP started assessment of the affected districts on the 3rd of June. The assessment in Narang still to finalize while the findings of the assessment in Dara-I- Pech, Sarkani and Asadabad districts indicates only damages to agricultural land and crops.

In a separate incident on the 26th of May, as a result of flash flood, 10 families were reportedly affected in Narang and Asadabad districts. A joint assessment team consisted of IOM, ANDMA, IMC and WFP conducted assessment on the 28th and 29th of May. 13 families were verified in need of NFIs and food items. 5 jeribs of agricultural land and 27 livestock (goats and cows) were also killed. IMC will cover the need for NFIs while WFP committed to provide food items.
