Sixth All India U-19 Invitation Tournament for Dhruv Pandove Trophy from 31stAugust to 12th September,2016 Punjab Cricket Association is organizing 6th All India U-19 Invitation Tournament for Dhruv Pandove Trophy from 31st August to 12th September,2016 at Chandigarh and Patiala to perpetuate the memory of young Punjab player Dhruv Pandove who died in a road accident at a tender age of 19. He was the youngest player to complete 1000 runs in Ranji Trophy cricket championship at the age of 17 years and 341 days. He had the distinction of being the youngest to score a century in the Ranji Trophy at the age of 14 years and 294 days. He was the contemporary of Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble , Rahul Dravid, Vinod Kambli, Sorabh Ganguly and Ajay Jadeja. Eight state teams including hosts Punjab will participate in the tournament. The teams will be divided into two pools of four teams each. The tournament will be played on league basis. The league matches will be of two days duration while the final will be of four days duration. Top team team of each pool will qualify for the finals which will be held at Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium, Patiala from 9-12 September,2016. According to Capt. Sushil Kapoor, the tournament director, the winners will get a Cash Prize of Rs.1.00 lac and a winner’s trophy, whereas the Runners up will get Rs. 50,000/- cash prize and a runners-up trophy. There will also be Man of the match award for each match. There will be special awards for Best Bowler, Best Batsman and Best all-rounder of the tournament. .
