FAQs about Brazilian and

What is the difference between a bikini wax and a Brazilian? A bikini wax removes the outside the panty line and some hair on top to make a defined, “triangle” area. A Brazilian removes all the hair in the pubic region, front to back. If desired, a small patch of hair may be left.

What should I do before my appointment? Please trim your hair to ½” length Stop 2-3 weeks before your appointment If worried about your pain tolerance, take Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) 1 hour before your appointment.

Can I be waxed if I am menstruating? Because the skin tends to be more sensitive before and during the menstrual cycle, we kindly request that you reschedule your appointment if you are on your period.

This is my first bikini or Brazilian waxing service. What can I expect? During a brief consultation, your service provider will ask you questions about medications you may be taking, as some can cause skin sensitivity during waxing, answer any questions you might have and determine your preference on the amount of hair you would like removed. You will be offered you a disposable wipe to freshen up, a pair of disposable panties, and a towel to drape over your lower half. If necessary, your hair will be trimmed prior to cleansing your skin and applying powder to absorb any excess moisture, which can compromise the waxing results. Your service provider will work in small sections, spreading wax on the hair and removing it. Throughout the service, you may be asked to assist in holding your skin taut and to reposition your legs as needed. After the is complete, we will apply proper post-care products to minimize irritation and soothe the skin.

Do you double dip? We pride ourselves on our hygienic standards and we do not double dip. We use a clean stick each time we dip into the wax pot and apply wax to your skin.

Do you use hard or soft wax? We use both types of wax for bikini and Brazilian waxing services. Our waxes are designed for use on sensitive skin yet are capable of removing even the most stubborn and coarse hair. We have found using a combination of waxes yields the best results for effective hair removal and maximum client comfort.

Will the price be lower if I don’t have much hair to remove? Our charges are determined per service, not by amount of hair.

How long will the results last and how often should I get a bikini wax or Brazilian? Everyone’s hair grows at different rates based on genetics, ethnicity, medical conditions, and medications. We recommend your hair be ½” length, and this could take anywhere from 4 weeks to 8 weeks for the hair to grow back to this length. We recommend you prebook your next appointment 4 weeks out and if your hair is not ½”, we can reschedule your appointment a few weeks later.

Will my hair grow back in thicker and darker? No. Waxing has the opposite effect! Hair that is removed at the root (vs. shaving which removes hair at the surface) grows in finer and softer over time with repeat waxing.

Why is your pricing $50 and up for a bikini wax? We allow 30 minutes for a bikini wax. If you wish to have more hair removed beyond the standard bikini area, we will charge an additional $15 for the service (time permitting).

What should I do after my waxing service? Your service provider will review in-depth aftercare instructions with you. We highly recommend you avoid hot showers and baths, exercise, tanning, and tight clothing for 24-48 hours because the pores are exposed, and perspiration and moisture may cause irritation.
