February 26, 2021 Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer, Alabama are voting to form a union with the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU). We are the writers of feature films and television series. All of our work is done under union contracts whether it appears on Amazon Prime, a different streaming service, or a television network. Unions protect workers with essential rights and benefits. Most importantly, a union gives employees a seat at the table to negotiate fair pay, scheduling and more workplace policies. Deadline Amazon accepts unions for entertainment workers, and we believe warehouse workers deserve the same respect in the workplace. We strongly urge all Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer to VOTE UNION YES. ANNUAL REPORT 2015 16_A70_TV_Acad_Ad.qxp_Layout 1 7/8/16 11:43 AM Page 1 PROUD MEMBER OF »CBS THE TELEVISION ACADEMY 2 ©2016 CBS Broadcasting Inc. MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AS THE QUANTITY AND QUALITY OF CONTENT HAVE INCREASED in what is widely regarded as television’s second Golden Age, so have employment opportunities for the talented men and women who create that programming. And as our industry, and the content we produce, have become more relevant, so has the relevance of the Television Academy increased as an essential resource for television professionals. In 2015, this was reflected in the steady rise in our membership — surpassing 20,000 for the first time in our history — as well as the expanding slate of Academy-sponsored activities and the heightened attention paid to such high-profile events as the Television Academy Honors and, of course, the Creative Arts Awards and the Emmy Awards. Navigating an industry in the midst of such profound change is both exciting and, at times, a bit daunting. Reimagined models of production and distribution — along with technological innovations and the emergence of new over-the-top platforms — have led to a seemingly endless surge of creativity, and an array of viewing options. As the leading membership organization for television professionals and home to the industry’s most prestigious award, the Academy is committed to remaining at the vanguard of all aspects of television. Toward that end, we are always evaluating our own practices in order to stay ahead of industry changes, and we are proud to guide the conversation for television’s future generations.

  • Verizon Channel Lineup Custom Tv
Verizon channel lineup custom tv Continue By the mid-1960s, the participants in the traditional street scene had broken away in many directions. Some custom enthusiasts have switched to muscle cars and drag racing. Two original custom car architects, George Barris and Dean Jeffries, have been dragged into the World of Hollywood to create custom cars for television. When 20th Century-Fox and Batman producer William Dozier needed a Batmobile in 1965 (the pilot episode was supposed to premiere on ABC in January 1966), his first call went to Jeffreys, who began working on the 1959 caddy. Jeffries had to bow when he realized he couldn't meet Dozier's three-week term. Advertising custom car image Gallery Barris subsequently took the job, probably because he already owned the 1955 Lincoln Futura, a bubble-canopy concept car that Barris saved from a Ford crusher a few years ago by handing over one dollar. With a suitably low, wide chassis, as well as burning fins, a wide-mouthed grille, and a swoopy body line already in place, Futura was the Platform Barris needed to quickly deliver an outlandish, photogenic TV custom car that lived up to the manufacturer's expectations. Inside, the Futura Dash has been modified only slightly to accommodate prop gadgets such as Bat Phone, Discover-a-Scope, and Extraordinary Bat-Turn Lever. Claims about the number of Barris Batmobiles vary. Barris' crew pulled fiberglass molds from the original car to make duplicates for car show tours. Chances are four or five were made, including a drag-race race exhibition car.

‘HEALING HANDS’ CAST BIOS EDDIE CIBRIAN (Buddy Hoyt) – A versatile actor who continues to expand his career in television and film, Eddie Cibrian is fast becoming one of the leading young actors in the business today. Born and raised in California, Cibrian began his acting career at the age of 12, landing a Coca-Cola commercial on his very first audition. Following the success of that spot, Cibrian appeared in numerous other national commercials. Upon entering high school, Cibrian decided to put his acting career on hold to pursue his other passion: Sports. He excelled in every sport he competed in – football, baseball, soccer and volleyball – and graduated high school with several All-State honors. Cibrian continued his successful athletic career when he entered UCLA’s football program in the fall of 1991. Unfortunately, an injury during his first year on the team left Cibrian sidelined, so he decided to return to acting. Cibrian immediately landed several national commercials and soon after, starred in Malcolm- Jamal Warner’s Emmy® Award winning television special “Kids Killing Kids.” The attention Cibrian garnered for his appearance on Warner’s special led to several soap opera auditions, including one for “The Young and the Restless.” The show’s producers were impressed with Cibrian’s acting abilities and created a character for him on the show, that of the conniving Matt Clark. Within three months, Cibrian had received so much fan mail that CBS signed him to a three-year contract. After appearing on “The Young and the Restless” for two years, Cibrian starred in several television shows including “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Baywatch Nights,” “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Sabrina The Teenage Witch” and “Saved by the Bell: The College Years.” It was not long before Aaron Spelling offered Cibrian the starring role of Cole Deschanel on the NBC daytime drama, “Sunset Beach.” Just five months after his debut, TV Guide named Cibrian one of Daytime’s 12 Hottest Stars.

The Performance of Intersectionality on the 21st Century Stand-Up Comedy Stage © 2018 Rachel Eliza Blackburn M.F.A., Virginia Commonwealth University, 2013 B.A., Webster University Conservatory of Theatre Arts, 2005 Submitted to the graduate degree program in Theatre and the Graduate Faculty of the University of Kansas in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Chair: Dr. Nicole Hodges Persley Dr. Katie Batza Dr. Henry Bial Dr. Sherrie Tucker Dr. Peter Zazzali Date Defended: August 23, 2018 ii The dissertation committee for Rachel E. Blackburn certifies that this is the approved version of the following dissertation: The Performance of Intersectionality on the 21st Century Stand-Up Comedy Stage Chair: Dr. Nicole Hodges Persley Date Approved: Aug. 23, 2018 iii Abstract In 2014, Black feminist scholar bell hooks called for humor to be utilized as political weaponry in the current, post-1990s wave of intersectional activism at the National Women’s Studies Association conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her call continues to challenge current stand-up comics to acknowledge intersectionality, particularly the perspectives of women of color, and to encourage comics to actively intervene in unsettling the notion that our U.S. culture is “post-gendered” or “post-racial.” This dissertation examines ways in which comics are heeding bell hooks’s call to action, focusing on the work of stand-up artists who forge a bridge between comedy and political activism by performing intersectional perspectives that expand their work beyond the entertainment value of the stage. Though performers of color and white female performers have always been working to subvert the normalcy of white male-dominated, comic space simply by taking the stage, this dissertation focuses on comics who continue to embody and challenge the current wave of intersectional activism by pushing the socially constructed boundaries of race, gender, sexuality, class, and able-bodiedness.
