This is the improved MKII model Q, & was very popular. With the current owner since 1996, this machine has completed many Banbury runs and has just completed a charity ride to France. Very much made to a budget, and to the casual observer identical to a 1914 veteran Triumph. Surprising that Triumph Motorcycles got away with selling such an old dinosaur, it still has a manual oil-pump, plus as original, the valves run directly into the head, no valve guides were fitted. 205 1927 Norton 18 490 Pre 1950 Bike Details: Recently restored, this 1927 model 18 has been on a long road to get to this condition. Found 15 years ago completely dismantled in many boxes. The previous owner never got to see it restored to this condition, thanks Bill... 200 1936 Norton Manx 500 Pre 1950 Competition / Special Bike Details: An ex-works racer in unrestored condition. 86 1938 Rudge Sports Special 500 Pre 1950 Competition / Special Bike Details: The Sports Special 500cc model was introduced in 1937, production ceased in 1939. This example has been rebuilt twice, first time from a basket case where parts were missing, the second time after an accident in 2000. 64 1941 Matchless G3L 350 Pre 1950 Bike Details: First time at this show for this War Department dispatch riders bike. 201 1946 Norton Manx 500 Pre 1950 Competition / Special Bike Details: This is an ex-Denis Jenkinson machine and was raced on the Continent. "Jenks" was one of Britain’s foremost motor racing journalists for four decades. Restoration has just been completed. 131 1947 Norton Manx 500 Pre 1950 Competition / Special Bike Details: This bike was raced early in its life, but its race history is not known. Now used for shows and track parades. With garden-gate frame, it has not been restored. 89 1947 Vincent Rapide Series 'B' 998 Pre 1950 Bike Details: Built from a wreck 11 years ago. Originally fitted with a sidecar, the previous owner broke down on the way back from the Isle of Man TT due to a broken cam-bolt but got home on one cylinder. Originally fitted with Triumph Herald wheels with home-made hubs and the wrong forks, it's been completely rebuilt. Matching numbers on engine and UFM, I have original RFM which needs a rebuild! BTH modern mag, electric start, 'Mcdougalator' alternator, 12V electrics, multi-plate clutch, 'D' shock-absorber (engine). Replica Lightning brakes, been on the road now for 11 years. First registered on 18th September 1947. 19 1948 Ariel Red Hunter 500 Pre 1950 Bike Details: First time at this show for this big single. 152 1949 AJS 16C 349 Pre 1950 Bike Details: First registered on 9th February 1949. Bought as a pile of bent bits in the late sixties and rebuilt about eight years ago in road trim. Although originally a trials model, at present it's in road trim, fitted with road tyres and gearing, period dual seat and low level exhaust. In regular use, it's run trouble-free since the rebuild. It's a great back-lanes bike and it seven days older than the owner! 138 1949 Triumph T100 Tiger 500 Pre 1950 Bike Details: Sporting twin, first registered 26 February 1949.

Some modifications, but mainly standard and very nice to ride. 8 1954 BSA Bantam D1 125 1950-59 Lightweight Bike Details: First registered on 8th February 1954. Oily rag original BSA Bantam D1 owned by Lord Aaron Batson, ridden daily. 206 1954 Norton 500TT 490 1950-59 Competition / Special Bike Details: The 500T was the first purpose built trial bike Norton produced. This bike is fitted with a 500T trials engine and made to look like a Manx, hence the model name! 43 1955 BMW R26 249 1950-59 Lightweight Overseas Bike Details: First time at this show for this air-cooled BMW. 1 1955 BSA Rocket Gold Star Re650 1950-59 Bike Details: First time at this Show for this newly acquired bike. 2 1955 BSA Gold Star 500 1950-59 Bike Details: Made in Birmingham, the Gold Star was BSA's competition single. 81 1955 BSA Bantam D3 148 1950-59 Lightweight Bike Details: Originally despatched from the factory on 9th September 1955 to the dealers Nassers & Co in The Belgian Congo. Came back to the UK in 1976 as a total wreck and has been completely rebuilt, using the original parts. 130 1956 Norton M30 International 499 1950-59 Bike Details: First registered on 12th July 1956 this bike has been with the current owner since 1969. Travelled to Ireland, the Isle of Man and France over the years. 134 1957 Ambassador Supreme 250 1950-59 Lightweight Bike Details: Meet 'PAM', a 1957 Ambassador Supreme. Restored in 2014 by Michael Barter, after sitting in a shed for 41 years. 7 1957 Ariel Red Hunter VH500 500 1950-59 Bike Details: First time at this show for this machine, which was sold to a dealer in Honduras. Sent back to the UK in 2009 and restored by owner. 87 1957 BMW R26 247 1950-59 Lightweight Overseas Bike Details: Brought to England in 1964, and re-registered by the original German owner, who settled in Cheshire. It was restored in the 1990's, and the engine was reconditioned by the late lamented De-Fazio Ltd of Somerset. Runs well, a comfortable and reliable bike.

It has now been rebuilt by John Burch with the correct forks for the year 1957 and is almost as originally purchased. 69 1958 Ariel Square Four 1000 1950-59 Bike Details: First time at this show for this top of the range machine. 82 1959 BSA Gold Star DBD34 500 1950-59 Bike Details: First registered 2nd October 1959. 88 1959 BSA Golden Flash Outfit 650 1950-59 Bike Details: Fitted with a 1957 Watsonian MK1 Monaco sidecar. Both bike and sidecar have been completely rebuilt by the owner from wrecks. The bike had been stored in a shed from 1962 to 2006, with just 17,000 miles on the clock. It was complete missing only the rear light lens. The sidecar had been left dismantled in a garden in Birmingham since 1977. Now a nice outfit to enjoy. 85 1959 Matchless G3C 350 1950-59 Competition / Special Bike Details: Fitted with a 1962 short-stroke motor. With twin-cylinder engine, restored in 2009. 26 1960 Velocette Viper 350 1960-69 Bike Details: Owned by the previous owner for most of its life and mine for the last three years. I have done a lot of work on it to bring it up to its current condition. 132 1961 RCA Hogan Wasp - 1960-69 Lightweight Bike Details: Bought as an incomplete prototype and finished over several years. The engine, frame and forks were all designed by Peter Hogan. First time at this show. 25 1961 Triumph Bonneville 650 1960-69 Bike Details: First time at this Show. 61 1961 Triumph/Matchle Café Racer Special 650 1960-69 Competition / Special Bike Details: With the present owner for over 47 years. An ongoing project, the Triumph T110 engine was fitted in 1967. 154 1961 Matchless / P&D CSR Turned Head 650 1960-69 Competition / Special Bike Details: 'The Throwback' - this is a 1980-styled Arlen Ness lowrider. The frame is by Dave Batchelor of 'P&D'. Paint by Keith Baker of Classic Cycleworks. 11 1962 BSA C15 SS80 Sport Sta 250 1960-69 Lightweight Bike Details: First registered on 19th February 1962, this is the C15 sport model 250 cc with 10.5 compression.

In total, 212 were made for the American market fitted with a stretched 650 engine until the Norton engine was fitted. The '45' of the model number refers to 45 cubic inches, i.e. 750cc. Brought back from the USA in 1998, Al Perry the American owner rode it to Woodstock, the famous music festival. Despite all the bad press this model attracted it goes very well and is oil-tight. Only 62 are known to exist. Featured in 'Classic Bike' magazine in February 2018. 51 1963 Lambretta LI 150 150 1960-69 Lightweight Overseas Bike Details: An original British Lambretta fitted with rare original accessories. 6 1964 Kerry Capitano Grand Prix48 1960-69 Lightweight Overseas Bike Details: Assembled in England, the Kerry Capitano Grand Prix was fitted with a Minarelli engine, which was its big selling-point. With 3.1BHP it was the fastest lightweight on the market, far outstripping its rivals from Norman and Phillips fitted with the 2BHP Villiers 3K engine. The present owner bought one new in 1962, and bought this one for nostalgic reasons when it became available. 112 1964 Norton 650 SS 650 1960-69 Bike Details: With present owner since 2007, fairly original. 140 1964 Testi Telstar 50 1960-69 Overseas Lightweight Bike Details: 83 1965 Honda C100 50 1960-69 Overseas Lightweight Bike Details: One of over 100,00,00, the Honda Cub and Super Cub is the most successful motor vehicles ever. First time at this Show for this US bike which was imported to the UK in 2018 and tidied up to get it back on the road. 52 1965 Lambretta LI 150 Silver Special125 1960-69 Lightweight Overseas Bike Details: First time at this show for this original scooter fitted with period accessories. 80 1965 Norton Atlas 750 1960-69 Bike Details: Electronic ignition was fitted in 2003 and the engine was rebuilt in 2007. 111 1966 BSA BANTAM D7 175 1960-69 Lightweight Bike Details: This was my first bike, bought in 1975 for £15 while I was still at school. Having been off the road for the best part of 40 years, I finally got around to restoring it last year and did most of the work myself, including the engine rebuild, paint and wheels. 63 1966 Honda CB 500/4 500 1960-69 Overseas Competition / Special Bike Details: Mike Hailwood Replica 500/4 cylinder commemoration bike. Based on Honda 500/4 chassis, with tune motor (60 BHP) alloy tank and wheels. Races & parades in Shows, with a genuine 1964/5 Mike Hailwood helmet. Very rare ! 24 1966 Velocette Thruxton 500 1960-69 Bike Details: First time at this Show. 62 1966 Honda CB 500/4 Racer 498 1960-69 Overseas Competition / Special Bike Details: A sixties replica racer of the famous Honda 500/4 to commemorate Mike Hailwood, the greatest racer of all time. Displayed with a genuine Mike Hailwood helmet from 1965. 500/4 Replica racer built in 2001 for an article in Classic Mechanics magazine. Tuned engine featuring half race Joy cam, high comp pistons, Grimeca drum front brake, alloy rims with racing tyres, hand-made alloy tank and seat hump. Just had a refresh including paintwork and exhausts stove enamelled. Looks and sounds like the genuine 500/4 - not quite as fast, but sounds lovely. 48 1967 AJS Sapphire Sport 250 1960-69 Lightweight Bike Details: This is the last of the lightweight singles, produced to keep up with the Japanese machines that were beginning to dominate the market in the mid 1960s.

Believed to be one of only three in the country that has been converted. 117 1969 BSA Bantam B175 175 1960-69 Lightweight Bike Details: One of the last models of the popular Bantam. 49 1969 Matchless G15 CSR 750 1960-69 Bike Details: This bike was part of the final batch of G15s exported to South Africa prior to closure of the Plumstead factory in 1969. Restored in 2018. 5 1970 Honda CB450 K1 450 1970-79 Overseas Bike Details: First time at this show for this very rare UK spec Honda CB 450 K1. It's a general export model in exceptional condition, built just at the end of the Bomber line. Registered new in the UK in August 1970, Ridden here today, a distance of 90 miles from Hitchin in Herts. 29 1970 Triumph Dresda 24-hour End 650 1970-79 Overseas Competition / Special Bike Details: This machine won the 1970 Barcelona 24-hour endurance race, held at the Montjuic track. It's a unit-consruction Triumph engine in a lightweight frame, fitted with an eight-cam brake for endurance racing. 110 1970 Triumph T120 Bonneville 650 1970-79 Bike Details: Manufactured on 11th/12th August 1970 as a UK spec T120 R Bonneville. This makes it one of the last pre-oil-in-frame UK Spec bikes to be made. The bike was shipped on 13th August to Atherton & Co, the Triumph export agent for India and Pakistan in Liverpool, luckily the 13th was not a Friday! I acquired this bike in March 2002 as a restoration project. Every part of the bike has been stripped down, cleaned, inspected, painted, restored r replaced. The only parts of the engine/gearbox that were OK were the crankcases and chaincase, and even the chaincase needed welding. Everything else in the engine/gearbox was replaced! It started first kick once restored. 118 1971 BSA Bantam B175 175 1970-79 Lightweight Bike Details: Popular two-stroke lightweight. 100 1971 Honda CB750/4 750 1970-79 Overseas Bike Details: This CB750/4 is a replica built from parts from many different models collected over the last 10 years. Please ask for details. 27 1972 BMW R75/5 750 1970-79 Overseas Bike Details: First time at this show for this air-cooled BMW. 84 1973 Honda CB175 K6 175 1970-79 Lightweight Overseas Bike Details: Ground up restoration over a two-year period of this classic Honda seventies commuter bike. 46 1973 MZ ES250/2 Trophy 250 1970-79 Lightweight Overseas Bike Details: This motorcycle started out as only the frame, and was completely reconstructed from there, in a home restoration using as many second hand, and accumulated parts as possible. Fitted with a Superelastik sidecar. 113 1974 Honda CB350 350 1970-79 Overseas Bike Details: First time at this show for this Honda, which was found under a tarpaulin in a rotten state. Here it is one year later after a complete nut and bolt restoration. 115 1974 Honda CB550/4 550 1970-79 Overseas Bike Details: Bike was an import from the USA, restoration still work in progress. Restoration just finished. 204 1975 Suzuki RE5 500 1970-79 Overseas Bike Details: This bike is untouched and in original trim for 43 years. Suzuki were convinced that the rotary engine represented the future of the company and built a new factory to produce the RE5. However it was a commercial disaster and nearly bankrupted Suzuki. First time at this show. 60 1975 Triumph T160 Trident 750 1970-79 Bike Details: First time at this show for this iconic triple. 66 1976 Honda CB 400/4 408 1970-79 Overseas Bike Details: Purchased from Brighton as a part-finished project in 2013. Been back on the road for a few years after a rebuild in 2013. Ridden in VMCC events since then. 114 1976 Honda ST70 Monkey Bike 72 1970-79 Lightweight Overseas Bike Details: First time at this show for this monkey bike. Bought in a run down condition as a winter project. Six months later, after a complete engine rebuild and re-paint, it's back on the road. 136 1976 Honda CB 400/4 400 1970-79 Overseas Bike Details: First registered on 22nd June 1976, this is an original, low mileage example of this popular bike. 139 1976 Honda CB550/4 550 1970-79 Overseas Bike Details: First time at this Show for this machine, which was previously owned by Henry Cole. Sorted by the current owner. 28 1978 Honda GL1000KZ 1000 1970-79 Overseas Bike Details: First time at this show for this original & unrestored machine. I bought the bike in 1992 as an import from the USA. It had been off the road for 21 years from 1997. Brought back to life last year. 45 1978 Honda CB250T Dream 250 1970-79 Lightweight Overseas Bike Details: Produced in April 1978, one of a limited number made before they changed to the Super Dream. Restored to original condition. 67 1978 Kawasaki Z1R 1015 1970-79 Overseas Bike Details: Brought from Spain in 2000, doesn't do winters! Never seen a British winter - unrestored and totally original. 65 1978 Yamaha XS250 250 1970-79 Overseas Lightweight Bike Details: This bike came from M Gunyon Motorcycles of Faversham, Kent at a cost of £694.45 on 25th August 1978. Not an import, with full history and all sales invoices. 47 1980 BMW R100RT 980 1980 On Overseas Bike Details: This is an early R100RT, BMW's first purpose built faired touring bike. Essentially standard except for one or two popular modifications; the later screen & mirrors being the most obvious. A classic 'Bahnstormer', with original pale seat and metallic brown / phoenix gold livery. 137 1980 Honda CB250N Superdrea 250 1980 On Lightweight Overseas Bike Details: First time at this show for this early model engine, featuring a kick-starter alongside the electric starter.

It was a totally rusty non-runner. It took two years to rebuild, and came third in the Edenbridge 2018 Best Bike in show. 41 1981 BMW R65 650 1980 On Overseas Bike Details: Still in regular use, including continental trips to Portugal, Cantabria and Germany. It completed 95,000 as a courier bike and now has over 185,000 miles on the clock. It's been regularly serviced, and has had one set of piston rings and new valves, guides and valve seats. The frame has been powder coated and a new odometer fitted, plus expected service items such as tyres, brakes and cables. First time at this Show. 21 1982 Suzuki Katana 1000sz 997 1980 On Overseas Bike Details: This bike was registered as new in the UK on 1st March 1982. Purchased by the current owner on 2nd October 1988 after looking for one for five years - 'my dream come true!'. Kept in totally original condition by the owner, even down to the paintwork, which is showing its age. Nothing has been replaced anywhere on this machine, just the usual tyres and batteries. Ridden very hard in all weather conditions where possible. It is very fast and an easy bike to ride as it weighs in at 525 lbs fully fuelled up. 153 1986 BMW R80T 800 1980 On Overseas Bike Details: First time at this show for this air-cooled BMW. 50 1999 Kawasaki ZX9R Ninja C2 899 1980 On Overseas Bike Details: Brought in original condition last year, first time at this show. 40 2000 MV Agusta F4S Ltd Edition 1000 1980 On Overseas Bike Details: This machine was imported from France in 2017 and is number one of a limited edition of 300. Ferrari were involved in the early design process, especially with the radial valves. It's listed as making 170 BHP with a top speed of 180 mph but I really wouldn't know! Cost new was £16,200. It's fitted with a bored-out 736cc engine. 30 tba Triton Triton 826 1950-59 Competition / Special Bike Details: This Tritin built by Dave Degens over the last 15 - 20 years is fitted with a pre-unit Triumph engine which has been stroked and bored-out to 826cc.
