Students’ registrations were generously donated by Harry Javer. AHLEF provided funds for travel stipends and hotel stays. AHLEF hosted the Scholars Luncheon during AHLA’s Fall Conference, which featured notable industry leaders and drew 23 industry executives and 56 current and past scholarship recipients. The Foundation provided educational support for partner state associations (PSA) Partner State by sponsoring the International Society of Associations Association Executives’ Winter Conference. It also awarded six scholarships to PSA staff members so they could attend the Institute for Organization Management, which was funded through the Lawson Odde Scholarship Fund. 3 WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT “As a Certified Hospitality and Tourism Management Professional, AND HIGH SCHOOL INITIATIVES I’m familiar with many concepts and terms that are used within the hospitality industry – a recognition that has proven beneficial for both the present and future.” In 2016, more than 7,000 credentials were awarded Ana May, CHTMP to students enrolled in the Foundation’s high school 2016 graduate, Hospitality & Tourism Management Program and workforce initiatives. HTMP is the official industry-recognized curriculum to prepare high school students for a job in hospitality and is offered in 656 high schools. The program gives students the opportunity to earn multiple certifications from AHLA to help them on their career journey.
