Joe’s mastering work includes a vast array of stylistically diverse projects for acclaimed and buzz-worthy artists including Foo Fighters, Garbage, Björk, Tïësto, Vampire Weekend, Neutral Milk Hotel, Ravi Shankar, The Killers, Jimmy Cliff, Imagine Dragons, Neon Trees, KRS One, Jeff Buckley, Against Me!, Moby, Beach House, Fall Out Boy, Lil Jon, The Shins, Armin Van Buuren, The Postal Service, The Raveonettes, BT, Matt & Kim, Vanessa Carlton, The National, Shiny Toy Guns, Chromeo, Say Anything, Neon Indian, Araab Muzik, Bear in Heaven, The Walkmen, Dum Dum Girls, Ween, Cold War Kids and Twin Shadow. Having earned a degree in music technology from NYU, Joe’s comprehensive education and insight into audio have been called upon to consult for one of the world’s leading forensic musicologists on cases for The Beatles, Prince, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Jay Z, Britney Spears, Eminem, Beyoncé, Shakira, Guns N’ Roses, Mary J. Blige, Black Eyed Peas, Phil Collins, Sting, Alicia Keys, Diddy and many others. In addition to Joe’s extensive mastering and consulting experience, he has written & released tracks through his own label/imprint (Freshchest Records) distributed worldwide by Caroline/EMI. Joe’s tal- ent as an electronic artist & producer has earned the attention of the legendary John Peel, DJ Hype, Dieselboy and DJ Dara, as well as receiving remix treatments from the likes of UK’s Dom ‘n’ Roland and Total Science. He has also written & produced for renowned hip hop artists including 50 Cent, GZA (of Wu Tang Clan), Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch and Cunninlynguists, in addition to licensing his tracks to major TV & film clients such as MTV, Showtime and FOX. Joe’s experience in music production and analysis has given him a unique perspective from which he carves his mastering abilities. Combining an acute attention to detail with an intuitive understanding of audio, Joe has worked with a plethora of artists ranging from lo-fi indie/garage rock to high production major label artists. He is becoming a formidable force in the next generation of mastering engineers.
