This is THE must-attend event of the autumn.

A glance at the list of likely starters (see below) already seems to entertain the possibility of either a 16th British victory or a ninth win for Ireland:

 SNOWFALL: a genuine champion and one who has already rattled off a rare treble: Oaks-Irish Oaks- and Yorkshire Oaks,  ADAYAR: The Epsom Derby winner and conqueror of Mishriff and Love in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes,  TARNAWA: The mare boasts a devastating turn of foot and she wound up her 2020 campaign with a Group 1 hat-trick. She made a winning return in the Ballyroan Stakes on August 5,  MISHRIFF: the world’s highest rated horse and one that trotted up in the International Stakes last time,  WONDERFUL TONIGHT: Blessed with unrivalled stamina and courage, and a filly for whom soft ground works wonders.

The current French health regulations don’t currently stipulate a ceiling on the number of spectators which can attend. To gain access to the course, visitors will only need to show their health pass or carry out a PCR test at the racecourse. As far as England is specifically concerned, there is no longer any need to quarantine on returning from France.

In 2007, the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) and France Galop signed a sponsoring partnership agreement embracing the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. Horse racing is an essential part of Qatari culture. This passion spawned an enduring partnership with France Galop and the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) was established in the early 1960’s and was officially made public in 1975. The QREC is mandated with representing, promoting and advancing equine and equestrian initiatives from grassroots programs to the international arena. Focused on equestrian sport and horse welfare, QREC is dedicated to promoting Qatar as a world class hub for horse racing and a leader in the pure Arabian breed. QREC works in collaboration with local bodies dedicated to achieving excellence in planning, regulating and developing Qatar’s racing industry to reflect the world’s best practices.

By harnessing innovation and excellence and driven by professionalism and integrity, QREC hopes to bring the joy of racing and breeding to the wider public. Interest in Qatar and its racing activities, both at home and abroad, has been elevated to an entirely new level during the past years with the growing involvement of Qatari Owners. The acquisition of some of Europe’s top thoroughbreds and several successes in the main classic races in the world help to promote Qatar as a state with a passion for equine sport and a place where the international racing community can feel welcome.
