Deadtime Stories is a story-driven expansion for the award-winning Zombies!!! board game. For the first time, players can take on roles, achieve a variety of goals, and gain experience over multiple games. The box also contains variant rules, types for a different flavor every time a new fig hits the table, and new ways to combine sets and even mergeZombies!!! with Humans!!! and Martians!!! One of the most requested Zombies!!! variants is a way to use all the existing sets of the core line in one huge game. We call that Mega-Zombies, and here’s that chapter of the scenario book...

Jeremy Rendle pulled back into the helicopter interior, his rifle still smoking from the latest shot fired into the zombie-filled streets below. “Runnin’ out of ammo,” he called over to his brother Greg, who was leaning out the other side of the copter and chewing on a toothpick from a box he’d found in a mostly looted pharmacy the week before. “Yup,” Greg said. His gaze was fixed on something in the distance. “Time to head back.” Greg finally leaned in, twirling his index and middle finger in the air to indicate to the pilot, their sister Sara, that they were done for now. “Whatcha lookin’ at down there?” Jeremy shuffled over and looked outside. The streets were writhing mass, hordes of the undead attracted by the clipping rotors and the shooting. Greg pointed to a small park a few blocks away, just beyond the edge of the swarm. Five figures lurked low in a gazebo there, one pointing binoculars at the helicopter. “You think they’ll make it?” Jeremy asked as Sara pulled them sharply away, beyond the zombies in the other direction. “Dunno, brother. They’re gonna have a long run of it regardless. That’s an awful lot of ground to cover...”

Mega-Zombies!!! is a sprawling, all-inclusive variant using available sets as of November, 2013 (so, the Zombies!!! core set through Zombies!!! 12, including Zombies!!! 3.5 and any filled in blanks fromZombies!!! 6.66). You don’t have to own every set to play, but every set added enhances the experience and makes for a more satisfying city-spanning game.

12 GTM JANUARY 2014 Sets Used Any or all sets you own. Each brings something new and special to a Mega-Zombies!!! game. Objective You win by getting to the center square of the Helipad from Zombies!!! 2, Zombies!!! 3, Zombies!!! 5 (and killing any zombie that’s there), or by clearing out the Crematorium of Zombies!!! 9. Alternatively, if you rescue a director from Zombies!!! 11, you may place the “Helipad” from the base set anywhere on the board. You may then win by reaching the center of this Helipad square and killing any zombie that’s there as well. Set-Up Tiles 1. Preset all city tiles, Zombies!!! 6 tiles, and Zombies!!! 10 tiles, excluding the Helipad. Place these tiles in as small an area as possible. • Make sure there are plenty of access points on all sides of the board. • If desired, include any filled in tiles fromZombies!!! 6.66 in the preset board. If any filled in tiles work best with other set tiles, include them in those tile decks instead. 2. Off the preset tiles, place the tiles for Zombies!!! 4 at one of the access points. Do the same for Zombies!!! 7, Zombies!!! 8, Zombies!!! 11, and Zombies!!! 12. • Make sure the “Exercise Yard” from Zombies!!! 8 is on the outermost edge of the board. 3. Place the entrance of Zombies!!! 9 and a four-way generic tile off of a tile from Zombies!!! 4. 4. Place the entrance for Zombies!!! 5 and a four-way generic tile off of a tile from Zombies!!! 12. 5. Place the entrance for Zombies!!! 3 and a four-way generic tile off of a tile from Zombies!!! 7. 6. Place the entrance for Zombies!!! 2 plus a four-way generic tile off of the “Exercise Yard” from Zombies!!! 8. 7. Place the remaining tiles for each set in play near the corresponding entrance point.

Cards 1. Shuffle the cards from the base set with the cards from Zombies!!! 3.5, any filled in cards from Zombies!!! 6.66, along with all the cards from Zombies!!! 6 and Zombies!!! 10. Place this deck to the side. 2. Remove the spell cards from Zombies!!! 4 and then shuffle the cards from Zombies!!! 4 and Zombies!!! 9 together. Place this deck near the same sets’ tiles. 3. Shuffle the cards from Zombies!!! 5 and Zombies!!! 12 together. Place this deck near the same sets’ tiles. 4. Remove the “Clown Car” cards from Zombies!!! 7 and then shuffle the cards from Zombies!!! 3 and Zombies!!! 7 together. Place this deck near the same sets’ tiles. 5. Shuffle the cards from Zombies!!! 2 and Zombies!!! 8 together. Place this deck near the same sets’ tiles. 6. Remove the “Pull Some String” cards from Zombies!!! 11 and then shuffle the remaining cards. Place this deck near the same set’s tiles.

Game Play 1. Each player takes a pawn and places it on “Town Square.” 2. Each player takes 5 bullet and 5 heart tokens. The maximum heart token limit is 5. 3. Each player draws a random addiction card from Zombies!!! 10. Play follows the round and turn sequence from the normal Zombies!!! rules, with the following exceptions. • Each player rolls two dice for movement instead of 1 (adding both results together). • Whenever you draw a card, you may draw it from any deck. • You do not draw tiles until you reach the entrance to a tile set location (e.g. the circus, the military base, etc.). At that point, you draw and place tiles as usual, though only from the tile set where you are currently located. • Ignore the building requirements for weapon cards. You may now pick up any weapon in any building. • You may not win the game by killing 25 zombies.
