Classic Poetry Series Allama Muhammad Iqbal - poems - Publication Date: 2012 Publisher: Poemhunter.com - The World's Poetry Archive Allama Muhammad Iqbal(9 November 1877 - 21 April 1938) Sir Muhammad Iqbal, also known as Allama Iqbal, was a philosopher, poet and politician in British India who is widely regarded to have inspired the Pakistan Movement. He is considered one of the most important figures in Urdu literature, with literary work in both the Urdu and Persian languages. Iqbal is admired as a prominent classical poet by Pakistani, Indian and other international scholars of literature. Although most well known as a poet, he has also been acclaimed as a modern Muslim philosopher. His first poetry book, Asrar-e-Khudi, appeared in the Persian language in 1915, and other books of poetry include Rumuz-i-Bekhudi, Payam-i-Mashriq and Zabur-i-Ajam. Some of his most well known Urdu works are Bang-i-Dara, Bal-i-Jibril and Zarb-i Kalim. Along with his Urdu and Persian poetry, his various Urdu and English lectures and letters have been very influential in cultural, social, religious and political disputes over the years. In 1922, he was knighted by King George V, giving him the title "Sir". During his years of studying law and philosophy in England, Iqbal became a member of the London branch of the All India Muslim League. Later, in one of his most famous speeches, Iqbal pushed for the creation of a Muslim state in Northwest India. This took place in his presidential speech in the league's December 1930 was very close to Quid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. -

This can be attributed to the political environment of British India in the late nineteenth and in the first half of the twentieth century; any intellectual of that period, whether Hindu or Muslim, could not help but join the struggle for freedom in their respective capacities. Iqbal’s oeuvre has always been treated as the sacred document of the Muslims’ demand for independence on both national and international levels. The field of Iqbal Studies is marked by unjustified political nuances imposed on his writings; each writer approaches Iqbal from his personal political agenda, and, as a result, we have Iqbal the sole originator of the Pakistan Plan, Iqbal the conservative, Iqbal the socialist, and Iqbal the liberal. -

Ideological Similarities of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam 49 Ideological Similarities of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah Prof. Dr. Ayub Sabir Abstract The article aims to explore the ideological similarities between Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal as well as their ideological conversion from Indian nationalism to Muslim nationalism. In his address at Aligarh, 1901, Iqbal made it very clear that the element of Islamic thought in Muslim nationalism is unique among other nationalities in which tauheed (Oneness) is the central variable. Lucknow Pact was completely rejected in Nehru Report as well as the idea of a separate electorate. Provincial Congress governments were established in 1937. Hindu-Muslim riots, Wardha Scheme of Education and Vande Mataram had badly exposed Hindu mentality over Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The article concludes that there is perfect harmony between the views of Iqbal and the statements of Quaid. All the statements that belong to Jinnah after ideological conversion are in complete concordance with the views of Iqbal. Special focus is laid on the ideological conversion of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. In the beginning, Allama Iqbal (R.A) was inclined towards diverse tendencies, in which the propagation of Islamic influence and ‘Indian nationalism’ was quite dominant. Till 1905, he wrote excellent poems like “tasveer-e-dard” (The Portrait of Anguish), “tarana Hindi” (The Indian Anthem) and “Naya Shiwala” (A New Altar) in favour of Indian nationalism, the most impressive writings, having deep insight for the reader. -

It traces chronologically the views expressed by Alla¯ma Dr. Sir Muhammad Iqbal regarding the Ahmadiyya Movement and its Founder, and Iqbal’s relations with the Movement and its prominent figures, from the 1890s to his death in 1938. The need for such a survey arises because some of Iqbal’s statements which he published in the last four years of his life, repudiating the Ahmadiyya Movement, have been given vast circulation by the opponents of the Movement. -

My mother is a Kamilaroi Elder and one of the Stolen Generation. My late father was Italian. I’m originally from Griffith, NSW and now live on the Gold Coast. Health & Wellbeing In my culture, health and wellbeing is not just physical, it is holistic and spiritual. It means closeness to family and country. There are great similarities in the cultural values of both my cultures, particularly when it comes to the importance of family. I treasure my heritage. Culture & End of Life As our Elders reach their golden years, it is important to listen to their needs and wants, be particularly close to them and help them through obstacles they face with health, loneliness and their independence. Love them unconditionally and support them with great love, respect and gratitude for all they have sacrificed. I will forever remember what each Elder has taught me with their love, words of wisdom and advice on how to live life. They are my heroes and I keep them alive in my heart, mind and life each day by living by the principles they have taught me. I am grateful! Culture & Routines I don’t have a set routine, but to me, it is important to pray and meditate, get INSPIRED IDEA... outside in nature daily and to make contact with family.
