URGENT – Serious statistical errors contained within the NSW Domestic and Family Violence Action Plan

Dear Ms McKay,

I refer to your letter of 6th August 2010 (copy attached).

We have written today to the Office for Women’s Policy requesting that they respond in a timely manner to our concerns about serious statistical errors contained within the NSW Domestic and Family Violence Action Plan. Errors of fact by a Government agency are not ‘concerns’ that can simply be ‘noted’. If a response is not forthcoming within fourteen days we will lodge a formal complaint with the Office of the NSW Ombudsman.

Could you please advise which of the 91 actions within the five strategic directions contained in the NSW Domestic and Family Violence Action Plan are initiatives that apply to male victims of domestic and family violence, and which are not.

We would appreciate it if you could provide this material as a matter of urgency. We are extremely concerned that your original reply took two months to get to us.

Thank you for taking the time to address our concerns.

Yours sincerely,

Greg Andresen Research and Media Liaison
