Dec 19, 2020/ Juban district, Al Dhale governorate, : Funded by the UNOCHA’s Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), YFCA’s CEO has inaugurated the solar-powered pumping unit for Libah valley’s groundwater-well in Juban district of Al Dhale governorate; the well serves sustainably the whole 120,000+ population of Juban district. Following this launching, the YFCA team has met with the local authorities and the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation (LWSC) in the district to deliberate about water-related challenges and ways to synergize.

Dec 20, 2020/ Damt district, Al Dhale governorate, Yemen: YFCA’s CEO has visited the Childhood, Motherhood and Obstetric Emergency Centre (CMOEC) in Damt district to check on the healthcare equipment and service delivery of the center. This public center is one of the supported-facilities by YFCA through a generous donation of UNFPA.

Oct 10, 2020/ Lahj & Abyan, Yemen: Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) -formerly DFID-, YFCA has launched a sensitization campaign against COVID-19 in a couple of hospitals in Lahj and Abyan governroates including Al Musaimeer and Zunjubar Public Hosptials.

Along with, the local community health volunteers (CHVs) have engaged with the lcoal communities for direct behavior-change messages regarding the pandemic.

Nov 12, 2020/ Sana’a, Yemen: Hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden and European Commission, YFCA has participated in the Second Senior Officials Meeting (SOM II) on the humanitarian crisis in Yemen which took place in virtual format with the participation of the main humanitarian actors active in the country. The participants – donors, United Nations agencies and International and Yemeni Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) – took stock of the situation in Yemen, assessed the deteriorating crisis and expressed their commitment to continue acting collectively.

Nov 23, 2020/ Al Dhale, Yemen: Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) UK, an induction training was conducted for the community committes for the Integrated Cash Interventions (ICI) project in Al Dhale governorate.

The UN System’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender- Based Violence activities, from 25 November to 10 December, took place this year under the global theme: "Orange the World: Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect!"

Dec 7, 2020/ Marib, Yemen: As part of its social responsibilities, YFCA, in coordination with the MoE office in Marib, has disbursed hundreds of double school desks for Al Wahdah Public School in Al Jafinah area of Marib City being one of the underserved schools in the governorate.

Dec 20-24, 2020/ Sana’a, Yemen: YFCA has conducted a five-day CMAM refresher training for 15 nutrition project field staff in the governorates of Taiz, Al Mahweet, Lahj and Al Dhale. The training aimed to boost their know-how in the Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) which will contribute to strengthen the monitoring and supervision outcomes and bolster the quality of healthcare services rendered in the health facilities.
