Brittany Pomilee State Sweetheart

Hello DeMolay and welcome to Conclave 2016! This memorial day weekend will be packed with friendly competition, fun, and brotherhood! This year’s conclave is entitled “Legacy” and I am confdent that this beautiful order has left huge shoes for future DeMolay to f ll. The jurisdictional officers have been working diligently to make sure we all have a blast this weekend and I believe this Conclave will be one of the best to come. We are sad that our term is coming to an end, but Amanda and I have had a fantastic year as your State Sweethearts and we are eternally grateful to have been given the opportunity to represent Missouri DeMolay. I want to thank the young men of Missouri DeMolay for allowing me to be your State Sweetheart. I am truly blessed to have made so many friends along the way. I would like to thank Amanda for working along my side. You have been a wonderful associate and friend. I would also like to wish the sweetheart candidates good luck this weekend! State Sweetheart is more than just a title, it’s a responsibility and an honor bestowed upon you by your brothers, and it should be taken seriously. It will be a memory you will hold close to your heart and I encourage you have fun with it! This past year has been amazing and I cannot wait to see what extraordinary things each chapter will do throughout this weekend and rest of the year. Good luck to everyone and thank you for everything!

Brittany Pomilee State Sweetheart 2015-2016 Amanda Aiken Associate State Sweetheart

Hello and a big warm welcome to Conclave 2016! This past year has been extraordinary and here we are, ready to have more fun! It has been an honor to represent all of the amazing young men of Missouri DeMolay as Associate State Sweetheart. This will be a weekend flled with fun. Remember, while this weekend is full of ritual competitions and sports, is really about brotherhood. Focus on being a good sport, making new friends and strengthening old friendships. New DeMolays and Squires, I am excited to meet all of you please, come up and say “Hi!” whenever you get the chance. To everyone competing this weekend, if you try your best - then you are a winner! To the Sweethearts, don’t stress! Enjoy yourselves, make friends, but most of all remember that this is a weekend for the boys. I have learned that when you make things about others – you are the one who gets the greater rewards. A shout out to the Jurisdictional officers for planning such an awesome Conclave, you are all great leaders. Also a thank you to parents, chaperones, and advisors - without you this weekend would not be possible, thank you for taking the time to be here and support Missouri DeMolay. Let’s make the most of this weekend. We are what people remember us by, so let’s make our legacy a great one.

Amanda Aiken Associate State Sweetheart 2015-2016 LEGACY

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6:5-7

From time immemorial we are taught to Love God. This is the greatest Legacy that passes down through the ages. We, as DeMolays, continue to share that Legacy through our Ritual – and more importantly – through the way we think and act according to the virtues of our Order: Love of Parents, Reverence to God, Courtesy, Comradeship, Fidelity, Cleanness and Patriotism.

Missouri DeMolay has a tremendous Legacy – from the origins of our Order in 1919 – through today – as the best Jurisdiction in the world.

What will your Legacy be? Think carefully! You will be remembered each day for what you do, what you say, and how you present yourself.

Welcome to State Conclave 2016 - and may this be a great opportunity for you to make a positive and meaningful Legacy for yourself and the Order of DeMolay.

Sincerely and fraternally, Dad Robert W. Cockerham Past Grand Master Executive Officer Missouri DeMolay
