Grass are typical wind-pollinated plants and the most important agent causing pollinosis in Europe. Many species of grasses growing in Poland have distribution ranges that extend far to the north, indicating their tolerance of severe arctic climate. Measurements were performed by the volumetric method (Burkard and Lanzoni pollen samplers). Pollen season was defined as the period in which 98% of the annual total catch occurred. Seasonal Pollen Index (SPI) was estimated as the annual sum of daily average pollen concentrations. The pollen seasonFor of Poaceae started non- first in Warsaw, on the 10th of May (one week earlier than the other cities) lasted till the 8th of September. The dif- ferences of pollen seasons duration were slight. -

On 11 June officials banned the Church from renting premises, therefore banning it from meeting, church members told Forum 18 News Service. Police asked them: "Why do you attend this church and not a normal one?" Officials warned congregation leader Pastor Sergei Nikolaenko - who is already facing trial on Administrative Code charges - that he would be investigated on possible Criminal Code charges. "You can watch a football match or discuss [the poet Aleksandr] Pushkin without permission, but for a religious meeting you need permission", Dmitry Chumakov, the official in charge of religious affairs at Gomel Regional Executive Committee told Forum 18. Two weeks earlier there was a similar armed police raid on the Soligorsk congregation of Council of Churches Baptists. "11 more armed police arrived and broke up the service, as if they were coming after bandits", Forum 18 was told. Two congregation members were fined in early June for meeting for worship without state permission. chapter 7 Between Poland and Lithuania: Repatriation of Poles from Lithuania, 1944–1947 Vitalija Stravinskienė Introduction “Nostalgia is an illness that is common to everyone who came from Vilnius. … Only we can understand this longing for ‘Lithuania’ our fatherland.” This is how an author described his emotions in a letter to a friend sent from Poland to Lithuania in the late 1950s.1 This chapter tries to explain who those people who longed for Vilnius were, and how and why they ended up in Poland. It deals with the massive displacement of about 160,000 Poles from Soviet Lithuania to Poland between 1944 and 1947. The migration of Poles from Soviet Lithuania to the new “Peoples Republic of Poland,” shifted several hundred kilometres to the West and firmly under the control of the ussr, had been initiated by Joseph Stalin before the end of the war. It was a highly dynamic process that involved many people. Yet it must also be seen in the broader context of other processes that took place in Lithuania at the same time: brutal Sovietisation, massive repressions, radical economic and social changes, etc. This kind of comprehensive approach is necessary to reconstruct a more objective picture of the course and conse- quences of the Stalin-led population transfer of Poles from re-occupied Lithuania to Poland. The epicentre of this transfer was Vilnius and that part of Vilnius region that was incorporated into the Republic of Lithuania in 1939. More specifically, it was the city of Vilnius and the adjacent districts of Švenčionys, Vilnius and Trakai. -

Partnerships strengthen the capacities of all stakeholders to work together. Peace, justice and strong institutions are essential for improvements in the three core areas. Genuine sustainability sits at the center and it would be important to consider each of the SDGs through the lens of these five dimensions. -

It borders the Republic of Latvia in the north, the Republic of Belarus in the east and the Republic of Poland and the Kaliningrad province of the Russian Federation in the south. Lithuania covers an area of 65,200 sq km. At the beginning of 2000, the population was 3,698,500. In 1999 the population density averaged 56.6 people per sq km. The capital of the Republic of Lithuania is Vilnius. 2. In January 2000, the average monthly gross wage in the national economy totalled LTL 1,050. 3. In 1999, gross domestic product amounted to LTL 42.65 billion. 4. In January 2000, the inflation rate totalled 1.5 per cent. 5. In January 2000, foreign debt was $2,405 million. 6. According to the data of 1997, the ethnic composition of the population is as follows: 81.6 per cent - Lithuanians, 8.2 per cent - Russians, 6.9 per cent - Poles, 1.5 per cent - Byelorussians, 1.0 per cent - Ukrainians, 0.1 per cent - Jewish, 0.1 per cent - Tartars and 0.6 per cent - other nationalities. -

THIRD STEP OF EUROREGION “COUNTRY OF LAKES” Strategy 2020 of Euroregion „Country of Lakes” Project „Third STEP for the strategy of Euroregion “Country of lakes” – planning future together for sustainable social and economic development of Latvian-Lithuanian- Belarussian border territories/3rd STEP” "3-rd step” 2014 Strategy 2020 of Euroregion „Country of Lakes” This action is funded by the European Union, by Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus Cross-border Cooperation Programme within the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument. The Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus Cross-border Cooperation Programme within the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument succeeds the Baltic Sea Region INTERREG IIIB Neighbourhood Programme Priority South IIIA Programme for the period of 2007-2013. The overall strategic goal of the programme is to enhance the cohesion of the Latvian, Lithuanian and Belarusian border region, to secure a high level of environmental protection and to provide for economic and social welfare as well as to promote intercultural dialogue and cultural diversity. Latgale region in Latvia, Panevėžys, Utena, Vilnius, Alytus and Kaunas counties in Lithuania, as well as Vitebsk, Mogilev, Minsk and Grodno oblasts take part in the Programme. The Joint Managing Authority of the programme is the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania. The web site of the programme is www.enpi-cbc.eu. The European Union is made up of 28 Member States who have decided to gradually link together their know-how, resources and destinies. The main drinking water and sewage networks date from the start of the 20th century and are in need of immediate repair. The expansion of the drinking water supply networks, as well as replacement of the worn out pipelines and the construction of iron removal plants (within separate complementary projects) will contribute to compliance with the EU standards for drinking water by reducing the iron content from 0.25-1.2 to 0.05mg/l. Also, some 99 percent of the Vilnius inhabitants and industries will be connected to the water supply networks. It should be noted that this is the first stage of a long term plan, for which the feasibility work has already been completed, which will result in full compliance with both water quality and waste water Directives. Component 1 Rehabilitation of a total of approximately 80km of water mains in the districts of Antakalnis, Baltupiai, Fabijoniškes, Justiniskes, Kirtimai, Lazdynai, Paneriai, Pasilaiciai, Virsuliskes, Zirmunai and the Old Town by relining of approximately 73 km of pipes ranging from less than 200mm to 1000mm diameter and replacement of some 7kms of pipes are in the utility corridors Component 2 Extension of the water supply and sewerage networks to serve the outlying areas of Gineitiskes, Traku Voke, Tarande, Bajorai, Balsiai, Kairenai, Naujoji Vilnia and Riese.
