10th Anniversary! Pennsylvania’s School Wide/Program Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports System: PBIS Recognition 2016-2017 School Year - PAPBS Network Positive PennsylvaniaBehavior Support Positive PennsylvaniaBehavior Support Recognition Reception with light refreshments 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Welcome Recognition of Program Wide and School Wide Sites Please stand and be recognized when your category is called. • Universal (Tier 1) Initial Implementation With Fidelity (90 schools and programs) • Universal (Tier 1) Sustained Implementation With Fidelity (133 schools and programs) • Universal (Tier 1) and Targeted (Tier 2) Implementation With Fidelity (39 schools and programs) • Universal (Tier 1), Targeted (Tier 2), and Intensive (Tier 3) Implementation With Fidelity (18 schools and programs) Award Distribution 2 The Pennsylvania Positive Behavior Support Network (PAPBS) is pleased to announce the 2017 recipients of recognition for high fidelity implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS). The PAPBS Network recognition system annually identifies and publicly distinguishes Pennsylvania’s Program Wide (PW) and School Wide (SW) sites for successful implementation of PBIS. In order to be considered for recognition, PBIS sites across the commonwealth submit an application in the fall of 2016 that meets the following criteria: • In good standing of the PAPBS Network, • Supported by a PAPBS Network Facilitator, and • Submitted 2015-2016 annual data as required by the PAPBS Network program evaluator. There are four categories of recognition for which schools and programs can apply. The following requirements are based on the type of recognition sought by the applicant: Universal (Tier 1) Initial Implementation With Fidelity Fidelity of implementation criteria includes: • A score of 70 percent or above on the Benchmarks of Quality (BoQ),* • Submitted 2015-2016 annual data as required by the PAPBS Network, and • A score of 80/80 or above on the Preschool Evaluation Tool (PreSET)** or the Schoolwide Evaluation Tool (SET).*** Fidelity Measures: * Benchmarks of Quality The Benchmarks of Quality (BoQ) are used by teams to evaluate the status of program-wide and school-wide PBIS supports. The BoQ provides a way to assess and identify areas of strength and need for establishing future action plans for sustained implementation. ** Preschool-Wide Evaluation Tool (PreSET) This assessment is used to measure program-wide implementation of the universal level of positive behavior interventions and support (PBIS) in early childhood settings. *** Schoolwide Evaluation Tool (SET) The Schoolwide Evaluation Tool (SET) is designed to assess and evaluate the critical features of schoolwide behavior support. The SET results are used to evaluate the current status of Schoolwide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) and to assist school teams to strengthen schoolwide behavior supports. *** Continued on page 4 . 3 Universal (Tier 1) Sustained Implementation With Fidelity For PW and SW sites that have been recognized for implementation fidelity the previous school year and have applied to be recognized for continued fidelity of implementation at the Universal (Tier 1) level. Fidelity of implementation criteria includes: • Recognized for implementation fidelity during 2015-2016 school year, • Submitted 2015-2016 annual data as required by the PAPBS Network, and • Received a score of 80 percent or above on the BoQ for the 2016-2017 school year. Universal (Tier 1) and Targeted (Tier 2) Implementation With Fidelity For PW and SW sites that have been previously recognized for Implementation of Universal (Tier 1) level with fidelity and have applied to be recognized for con tinued implementation with fidelity at the Universal (Tier 1) level and also Targeted (Tier 2) level. Fidelity of program implementation criteria includes: • Recognized during the 2015-2016 school year for implementation fidelity at Tier 1 or Tier 1-Sustaining, • Earned a score of 80 percent or above on the BoQ for the 2016-2017 school year, • Submitted 2015-2016 annual data as required by the program evaluator, and • Earned a score of 80 percent or above for Tier 2 of the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI)**** and a Tier 1 walk-through tool was completed by their PAPBS Facilitator. Benefits of collecting and using the PreSET and the SET: • Provides an “outside” perspective of your building’s PBIS implementation efforts, • Provides objective data regarding implementation efforts through the use of a research-validated instrument, and • Requires collection or observation of evidence of PBIS implementation. **** SWPBIS Tiered Fidelity Inventory The SWPBIS Tiered Fidelity Inventory (SWPBIS TFI) is a fidelity measure to determine the extent to which programs and school staff are applying the core features of schoolwide PBIS in all three tiers. The SWPBIS TFI can be used over time to guide both implementation efforts and sustained use of program-wide and schoolwide behavioral interventions and supports. 4 Implementation Fidelity at Tiers 1, 2, and 3 This is for PW and SW sites that have been previously recognized for implementation of Universal (Tier 1) level with fidelity and have applied to be recognized for continued implementation fidelity at the Universal (Tier 1) level, Targeted (Tier 2) level, and the Intensive (Tier 3) level. Fidelity of program implementation criteria includes: • Recognized during the 2015-2016 school year for Tier 1 or Tier 1-Sustaining, • Earned a score of 80 percent or above on the BoQ for the 2016-2017 school year, • Submitted 2015-2016 annual data as required by the PAPBS Network, and • Earned a score of 80 percent or above on both Tier 2 and Tier 3 of the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) and a Tier 1 walk tool was completed by their PAPBS Facilitator. 5 Schools and Programs That Earned Universal (Tier1) Initial Implementation With Fidelity Western Region Warren County School District Baden Academy Charter School Youngsville Elementary/Middle School Butler Area School District West Mifflin Area School District Center Avenue Community School: Clara Barton Elementary School Alternative Education Center Avenue Community School: Central Region Emotional Support Program Altoona Area School District Central Valley School District Mowrie A.
