Objectives: The objective is to give an exposure to the manufacturing, testing and marketing of electronic systems and gain an insight into the business environment

Event Summary: A field visit to “Kaynes technologies Mysore”, was organized by the Department of Business administration on Friday, 28th February 2019. Kaynes Technology Private Ltd, Mysore, India is a leading domestic player in the Electronics System & Design Manufacturing Services Space with Global foot print. Apart from its mother plant and additional manufacturing facility at Mysore it has five manufacturing plants at Bangalore, Chennai, Manesar, Parwanoo, and Selaqui. Forty-three students and two faculty visited the company to interact and understand current market scenarios, latest most demanding technologies & criteria for selection etc. In this visit students were very eagerly listening to industrial higher authorities. The process of manufacturing and conceptual design, manufacture and testing of high reliability PCBAs, Box Build, Products and Systems Integration Services, Military Wire/Cable Harness for Defence and Aerospace Electronics and all other segments of Industry were explained to the students in detail. The visit was highly informative to the students. The students were then taken on a fun trip to Mysuru Palace and KRS dam after their Buffet Lunch. Mysore Palace is a historical palace and a royal residence at Mysore in the Indian State of . It is the official residence of the Wadiyar dynasty and the seat of the Kingdom of Mysore. The palace is in the centre of Mysore, and faces the Chamundi Hills eastward. , also popularly known as KRS, is a lake and the dam that creates it. They are close to the settlement of Krishnarajasagara in the Indian State of Karnataka. The gravity dam made of surki mortar is below the confluence of river with its tributaries Hemavati and Lakshmana Tirtha, in the district of Mandya. The students enjoyed well also learning the history and artefacts of these places. The students then arrived at a resort arranged for campfire and buffet dinner. There were many management games organized by the faculty and followed by campfire were the students danced for the music and enjoyed thoroughly, sharing stories at the gaze of night sky. It was truly a memorable evening for the students to cherish for the rest of life. A decent buffet dinner was also arranged. The students reached Bangalore at night. Thus, the trip and industrial visit was well organized and appreciated by the staff and students of Business administration.

Positive Outcomes: The students gained a real life exposure to the manufacturing process, the testing process and the business environment. This knowledge will inspire them into learning more about marketing, business and management.
