It is the responsibility of an author to secure permission for publication from the holder of the copyright for material included in this microfilm edition. Permission to film copyright serials included in this microfilm edition was secured by the Microfilming Corporation of America. This permission is not extended to the users of this microfilm edition who personally must secure copyright clearance for whatever they publish from these serials under copyright. 3 PREFACE The microfilm edition of The Right Wing Collection of the University of Iowa Libraries 1918-1977 is made available to the scholarly community with the consent and cooperation of the University of Iowa Libraries. Robert A. McCown, manuscript librarian at Iowa, and his staff have been of inestimable assistance. Their help has been much appreciated. The University of Iowa Libraries collection was supplemented by the holdings of five other institutions noted for their right wing holdings. These institutions include the B'nai B'rith Collection at the Widener Library of Harvard University, and the collections at the California State University at Fullerton Library, Northern Arizona University Library, Tulane University Library, and the Kenneth Spencer Research Library of the University of Kansas. Special thanks are extended to Nathaniel Bunker at Harvard, John W. Irwin at Arizona, Wilbur E. Meneray and Richard J. Collings at Tulane, Lynn Coppel at Fullerton, and Louis George Griffin III at Kansas. These five institutions and their staffs greatly added to the completeness and therefore the research value of this microfilm collection. A final thanks is extended to the numerous catalogers, editorial assistants, and clerical workers at Microfilming Corporation of America who helped over the last two and one-half years in the production of this microfilm collection and the printed guide. Their professional attitude and dedication made this project a reality. March, 1978 4 DESCRIPTION OF THE ARRANGEMENT OF THE COLLECTION The microfilm collection of right wing serials and ephemerae is arranged alphabetically by title or corporate author main entry. For each letter of the alphabet the serials are listed first, e.g. Aa-Az, followed by the ephemerae arranged in the same alphabetical order. The descriptive information provided in this guide for each of these two groups of materials differs. Each entry has been assigned an alphanumeric entry number which also serves as a frame number on the microfilm reels for that item. A description of the entries for both the serials and ephemerae follows. Each serial is assigned an alpha-numeric number, which precedes its title. Generally, the last known title of the serial and the last known place of publication and publisher were used for the entry descriptions. Also provided is the last known frequency of publication. Holdings statements are provided for all serials. These holdings statements vary in length and complexity due to the fugitive nature of much of this material. Some publications were never dated and/or assigned a volume and/or publication number. Some publications have rather unconventional volume and issue numbering systems. The editor has given great care to list each individual serial, or a run of a title, no matter the numbering system or the original errors in that system. Each entry also assigns subject type(s) to each entry. The subjects used are Anglo-Israelite, Anti-black, Anti-Communist, Anti-fluoridation, Anti-Semitic, Christian Fundamentalist, Conservative, and Libertarian. A brief description of the nature of the contents of each serial is also provided. These descriptions are frequently couched in the language used in that particular serial. In some cases notes are supplied which provide additional bibliographical information. Ephemerae may include correspondence, broadsides, leaflets, pamphlets, and cartoons. Ephemerae are generally described differently with only the main entry (title, name of organization, name of individual), place of publication, publisher, a brief holdings statement, and subject type provided. Ephemerae which accompany a particular serial are filmed after the serial, dated ephemerae before undated ephemerae. In some cases ephemerae published by an organization which also published a serial have been filmed under a different main entry and hence assigned a different alpha-number. In such cases a "See also" entry is provided to connect ephemerae to the serial. Generally, the last title of a serial and the last place of publication are used in this guide. In some cases, however, a serial published under more than one title has been filmed under its different titles and assigned two or more alpha-numbers. In such cases a "See also" entry connects these titles. "See also" entries are also used to connect two different serials published by the same organization. In addition, "See also" entries are used to connect serials published by different organizations which share the same purpose or beliefs. For example, all titles published by the various American Nazi organizations have been cross-referenced. Some serials and ephemerae were filmed out of alphabetical order according to the title or main entry finally selected as most current or appropriate. "See" entries are provided to place these serials and ephemerae in their correct alphabetical order. The serials in Harvard University Library's B'nai B'rith Collection were received after most of the original collection was microfilmed. This necessitated an expansion of the ialpha-numeric system to include these new titles and additional issues for already existing serial titles. The Harvard College Library material is included on reels 155-177. Six numbers, A7, A95, C15, F55, 19, and W30, were not used in the alpha-numeric system. The holdings statements in the A-L sequence differ in format somewhat from those in the M-Z and addendum A-Z sequence. However, all essential information is provided. There are three appendices in this guide. Appendix A provides a subject index to the collection, using those subjects mentioned earlier in this description. Appendix B provides a geographical index, while Appendix C is a chronological index. Further descriptions for each appendix are provided with the appendix. 5 REEL LIST NOTE: When the contents of a single alpha-numeric identifying number are split between two reels the date(s) or other descriptive information given in parentheses are for the item which begins or ends the reel, depending on where the split occurs. 1 Palimpsest World: The Serpentine Trail of Roy Frankhouser from the SWP, the KKK, and the “Knights of Malta” to Far Beyond the Grassy Knoll1 Introduction In the summer of 1987 the National Caucus of Labor Committees (NCLC) submitted a document in a legal action that attempted to prove that Roy Frankhouser, a well-known KKK member and Lyndon LaRouche‘s longtime paid ―security consultant,‖ was highly connected inside the CIA. The document, ―Attachment 2,‖ began: During 1974-75, Roy Frankhauser [sic], claiming to be working on behalf of the CIA, established contact with the NCLC. In approximately June 1975, Frankhauser submitted to three days of intensive debriefings, during which time he provided details of his employment with the National Security Council on a special assignment to penetrate a Canada-based cell of the Palestinian terrorist Black September organization, and other aspects of his CIA career dating back to his involvement in the Bay of Pigs.2 Frankhauser said he served as the ―babysitter‖ for [Mario] Garcia- Kholy [sic], one of the Brigade leaders who was to have a high government post in a post-Castro Cuba.3 Subsequently, NCLC researchers found a brief reference in PRAVDA citing a 1962 expulsion of one ―R. Frankhauser‖ from a low-level post at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow on charges that he was spying.4 The NCLC reference to a ―R. Frankhauser‖ being in Moscow in 1962 as somehow relevant evidence that Roy E. Frankhouser was working for the CIA suggests just how much we have entered the Mad Hatter‘s World.

This article argues that during the 1970s, Klan organizers transformed a reactionary counter-movement that had failed to preserve white supremacy by terrorizing civil rights organizers and black citizens, into a revolutionary white power movement that inculpated Jews and the federal government.4 It describes how these organizers

She coordinates NAADSN events, re- search projects and outputs, multimedia presence, website, and reports. She promotes relationships between the network and collaborators and manages NAADSN’s student and graduate research fellows. As part of her work with NAADSN, Dr. Nash is a post-doctoral r esearch fellow at Trent University studying past and present terrorist threats and attacks as well as Canadian, American, and international defence, security and counterterrorism policies. Her current research examines the fluidity of the “terrorism” label and how the label is informed and applied to a violent attack in Canada. This research looks at how racism, Islamophobia and white supremacy, and how and who we frame as “other”, or “terrorist”, are all profoundly connected. Dr. Nash is also working on a project at the University of Water- loo that looks at education and training in national security and counterterrorism in Cana- da. She has recently completed a review of important studies and practical efforts to anticipate and reduce risk factors contributing to lasting traumatization of terrorist victims for a chapter in the forthcoming Handbook of Terrorism Prevention and Preparedness (Ed. Alex P. Schmid). Dr. Nash received her Ph.D. in History from the University of Toronto with a focus on 20th Cen- tury American History, Terrorism, and International Relations. Her doctoral thesis looks at the reality of al Qaeda espionage methodology and how the idea of a sleeper agent was per- ceived and adapted to fit the terrorist threat posed by al Qaeda from the 1990s onwards.

Rev. Sun Myung Moon, Times founder, dies at 92 - Led religious movement to help promote world peace Cheryl Wetzstein September 2, 2012 The Washington Times “I am a controversial person. The mere mention of my name causes trouble in the world,” Rev. Moon wrote in his 2009 autobiography, “As a Peace-Loving Global Citizen.” The world “has associated many different phrases with my name, rejected me, and thrown stones at me. Many are not interested in knowing what I say or what I do. They only oppose me,” he wrote. “Today, though, not even the slightest wound remains in my heart. … True love is a love that forgets it already gave love, and gives love again.” Rev. Moon became widely known to Americans in the 1970s during his evangelistic rallies across the country, and major rallies at Yankee Stadium and the Washington Monument in 1976. America was in “moral decline,” Rev. Moon wrote in his autobiography, “and [I] played the role of a fireman responding to a call in an effort to reawaken its Puritan spirit.” But accusations that his church “brainwashed” members helped make Rev. Moon the target of repeated investigations. In 1982, Rev. Moon was convicted of income-tax evasion and eventually served 13 months in federal prison. Prolific founder Despite such hostility, Rev. Moon established and helped fund nonprofit organizations, including the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification and the Universal Peace Federation. He also launched business interests in industries such as shipbuilding, industrial machinery, stoneware, fishing and seafood products, computer software, ginseng tea and other health products, soft drinks, arts and cultural schools, newspapers in several countries and car factories in China and North Korea.
