February is Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) History Month

LGBT History Month is a month-long annual observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) history, the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements. In the , it is observed during February, to coincide with a major celebration of the 2005 abolition of Section 28, which had the effect of prohibiting schools from discussing LGBT issues or counselling LGBT or questioning youth.

LGBT History Month was instigated in the UK by Schools Out and first took place in February 2005. Each year the month celebrates the lives and achievements of LGBT people in the community, through locally organised events in schools, unions, local authorities, LGBT networks and communities across the UK. The theme for 2017 is Citizenship, PSHE and Law as we mark the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of male homosexuality in and Wales.

#outcome is an LGBT photographic portrait project created by Tom Dingley in 2014, to photograph LGBT people with the EXHIBITION attributes of their everyday life -- their work or their interests, holding a picture of themselves as a child -- helping to break An exhibition featuring the LGBT down stereotypes.
