The FHSAA uses a stan- dardized calendar in which each week of the school year is numbered 1 through 52, with Week 1 beginning with the first Sunday in July. O'NEILL VATICAN CITY - (NC) - Michelan- gelo's masterpiece, the Pieta, severely damaged by a hammer-wielding Hungarian will be restored as faithfully as possible to its original beauty but will remain forever flawed. The 6,700-pound statue carved from a single block of white Cararra marble was smashed by several hammer blows shortly before noon Pentecost Sunday, May 20, in its side chapel in St. Peter's Basilica. The statue, portraying the sorrowing Virgin holding the limp, dead body of Christ, is world famous and considered perhaps the most valued treasure of the Vatican. ACCORDING to visitors in the church at the time, a bearded man leaped over a low marble railing of the chapel, jumped on a table in front of the statue and began flailing away with a mason's hammer. The May Parent Association (PA) Meeting will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017, at 9:00 a.m.—immediately following morning meeting—at the Fisher Island Tennis Center Conference Room. Please note venue change, which is necessary due to ERB testing. Moms and dads are invited to attend! ERB (Educational Records Bureau) Testing Dates. The annual administration of the ERB Comprehensive Testing Program will occur: May 8 - 12 for Grades 3 and 4; and May 22 - 26 for Grades 1 and 2. To ensure a successful administration of the test, please adhere to the following: Unless your child is ill, please make sure he/she attends school each day during the testing window.
