Supervisor Dianne Jacob Endorses Jones for Senate

San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob has endorsed for the 38th Senate District.

"Brian has served as an effective advocate and representative for East County, and I know he'll continue to do the same in the State Senate," said Jacob. "I've had the opportunity to work with him on a number of issues and have seen him deliver for his constituents. I am proud to endorse him."

"Supervisor Jacob has been a forceful and effective advocate for her constituents in East County for more than two decades," said Jones. "She is the model of a true public servant and I am proud to have her support."

Supervisor Dianne Jacob was first elected to the Board of Supervisors in 1992. Now serving a seventh consecutive term, she has held elective office longer than anyone in County government history. She represents the more than 620,000 residents of District 2, a roughly 2,000-square-mile region that is the largest of the County’s five supervisorial districts. Jacob currently serves as Chair of the Board of Supervisors.

In addition to the endorsement of Supervisor Dianne Jacob, Jones has been endorsed by incumbent Senator , Assemblymember , Senate Republican Leader Pat Bates, Assembly Republican Leader , and 19 other legislators. In addition, Jones has received district endorsements from El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells, Santee Mayor John Minto, La Mesa Mayor Mark Arapostathis, Poway Mayor Steve Vaus, San Marcos Mayor Jim Desmond, Escondido Mayor Sam Abed, Santee Councilmember Ronn Hall, Santee Councilmember Rob McNelis, El Cajon Councilmember Gary Kendrick, La Mesa Councilmember Bill Baber, La Mesa Councilmember Kristine Alessio, La Mesa Councilmember Guy McWhirter, Poway Councilmember John Mullin, Escondido Councilmember John Masson, Escondido Councilmember Ed Gallo, and Escondido Councilmember Michael Morasco.
