PROCEEDING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WESTLAKE, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT THE REGULAR MEETING HELD JANUARY 25, 2021.

The Mayor and City Council met in Regular Session on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 5:30 P.M., Mayor Robert “Bob” Hardey presided with the following Council present:

A motion was made by Mr. Brown and seconded by Mr. Racca to approve the Consent Calendar. The motion carried unanimously.

AN ORDINANCE RE-ZONING THE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WESTLAKE, LOUISIANA, PARTICULARY CHANGING THE ZONE CLASSIFICATION OF PROPERTY AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER JOHN STINE AND FOSTER LANE FULLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, WESTLAKE, LOUISIANA FROM R-1 RESIDENTIAL TO R-M MULTI FAMILY.

C. Introduce Ordinance No. 987.

AN ORDINANCE RE-ZONING THE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WESTLAKE, LOUISIANA, PARTICULARY CHANGING THE ZONE CLASSIFICATION OF PROPERTY AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER SAMPSON STREET AND LIVE OAK STREET FULLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, WESTLAKE, LOUISIANA FROM R-1 RESIDENTIAL TO B-1 COMMERCIAL.

DISCUSSION AND ACTION

A motion was made by Mr. Bergeron and seconded by Mr. Cryer to approve hiring Hunter Matte as a Full Time Police Officer upon the recommendation of Chief Chris Wilrye. The motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Mr. Racca and seconded by Mr. Brown to approve Resolution No. 3519. The motion carried unanimously.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ROBERT “BOB” HARDEY, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF WESTLAKE, LOUISIANA, TO EXECUTE AND APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 4 FOR THE NEW CLUBHOUSE FOR THE NATIONAL GOLF CLUB OF LOUISIANA AND TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS THEREWITH.

A motion was made by Mr. Bergeron and seconded by Mr. Hayes to approve a City Limit Expansion Committee together. Council Member Cryer will chair the Committee and Council Member Brown will also be on the Committee. The motion carried unanimously.

UPDATE

Page 2 of 3 January 25, 2021 Mayor Hardey gave an update on Hurricane Laura and Delta debris removal. To date 330,000 cubic yards has been picked up. Debris pick up is now completed except for state roads.

Mayor Hardey gave an update on the repairs to City Hall. Barry King should have Utility Department drawings by the end of the week.

Barry King gave an update on the construction of the new clubhouse.

REPORTS

Jerry Milner gave an update on the Finance Report.

A motion was made by Mr. Brown and seconded by Mr. Hayes to approve the Reports. The motion carried unanimously.

A motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Racca and seconded by Mr. Cryer. The motion carried unanimously.
