Torcolato Breganze DOC- Winebow Torcolato Breganze DOC 2011 W I N E D E S C R I P T I O N Torcolato is made entirely from handpicked Vespaiola grapes that have been slightly affected by botrytis, a noble rot that adds complexity to this luscious dessert wine. Before fermentation, the grapes are dried for four months in a traditional method that involves winding the bunches around twine and hanging them from the ceiling. These hanging clusters form a twisted rope; thus explaining the wine name "torcolato" which, in local dialect, loosely translates as "twisted." T A S T I N G N O T E S Brilliant gold in color, Torcolato offers rich, spicy aromas of baked pears with hints of honey, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and hazelnuts. On the palate, it is sweet, without being cloying, and full-bodied with vibrant acidity. F O O D P A I R I N G Torcolato is perfectly enjoyable on its own but also pairs well with desserts like the crispy oversized cookies from the Veneto called “fregolata,” and aged cheeses like the local specialty Asiago Stravecchio. • In 1923 Grandma Caterina and Her Family Moved to Breganze
In 1923 Grandma Caterina and her family moved to Breganze - a land of great wines - and with the purchase of the first vineyard land located in the heart of the food and wine itinerary called ‘Strada del Torcolato e dei vini di Breganze’ (Road of Torcolato and wines of Breganze), the story of the winery Col Dovigo began. The love for the land and its precious outgrowth has been handed down generation to generation to the children, who, by treasuring the knowledge and know-how inherited from their parents, bought new lands where they planted several vine varieties and renewed the existing ones by adding some local vines such as Vespaiolo, Cabernet Savardo and Groppello, and other international ones, namely Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Cabernet Sauvignon. The discovery and exploitation of indigenous grape varieties represents a milestone in the history of the winery Cantina Col Dovigo: by investing resources into and committing to the preservation of the typical area of Breganze Doc, the company started an unprecedented enhancement of its products, placing its first bottled wines on the domestic market. Today the wines of Cantina Col Dovigo are the result of the friendship among Stefano and Alessandro, always united by their consolidated love for viticulture and confidence in the potential of the territory of Breganze. 44 “VESPAIOLO” DOC BREGANZE RìVOLE” WHITE DOC BREGANZE “SANT’IVAN” PINOT GRIGIO DOC BREGANZE “PERLENA” VESPAIOLO SPUMANTE “TORCOLATO” DOC BREGANZE MILLESIMATO DOC EXTRA-DRY Grape variety: Vespaiola 100% Grape variety: Grape variety: Tai 55%, Grape variety: Pinot Grigio Grape variety: Vespaiola 100% Wine-making process: Fermentation in stainless Chardonnay 37%, Saouvignon 8% Wine-making process: Handpicked grapes.

  • Sacyr and Fininc Put Into Service the Second Section of the Pedemontana-Veneta Highway (Italy)
PRESS RELEASE SACYR AND FININC PUT INTO SERVICE THE SECOND SECTION OF THE PEDEMONTANA-VENETA HIGHWAY (ITALY) • The project has a 78% advance rate. Madrid, June 19, 2020.- The SIS consortium, consisting of 51% Fininc and 49% Sacyr, put yesterday into service the second section of the Pedemontana-Veneta highway by opening the Malo-Valdastico section. With the opening of this second section, 12 kilometers of the main axis have already been put into operation. Malo-Valdastico gives continuity to the section that opened in 2019 between Breganze and the interconnection with the A31. The concession company, Superstrada Pedemontana Veneta, is in charge of the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the toll highway for a period of 39 years from the completion of construction. A strategic asset The Pedemontana-Veneta Highway is one of the most relevant infrastructures under construction in Italy and one of the main ones in Sacyr’s backlog, with an investment in the infrastructure of 2.600 billion euros. The project requires the construction of 162 km: 94 km of which correspond to the main road that will connect 34 municipalities and the industrial area of Vicenza and Treviso; and 68 km will correspond to secondary roads. This road will have two tunnels: Malo Tunnel (6 km) and S. Urbano Tunnel (1.5 km) and eight viaducts. The degree of progress on the total planned investment is 57%. The highway is part of the European TEN-T and is considered a strategic asset of national relevance as it is located between the existing A4 and A27 highways, crossing the Veneto Region, passing through the provinces of Vicenza and Treviso.
