Less than a month after his death, the Kennedy half dollar was authorized by congress, cutting short and replacing the Franklin half dollar. The coin was released to the public in March the following year. The original 1964 "Kennedy Memorial" silver half dollar is the most collected coin date in history and the only issue produced in 90% silver. When silver's intrinsic value rose in 1965, the Kennedy's content was reduced to 40% silver. Later issues were struck in copper-nickel. Since 2002, Kennedy half dollars are only minted in limited numbers for collectors. Mintmark Location In 1964, the mintmark was minted on the reverse of the 1964 coin located on the left-hand side just below the eagle's claw. From 1968 to present, the mintmark can be observed on the obverse of the coin just below the point of Kennedy's bust and above the date. 1965-1968 issues do not carry a mintmark. Kennedy half dollars have been minted at Philadelphia (no mintmark), Denver (D) and San Francisco (S). ICCoin: A Different Kind of Coin Company Since 1975, we here at International Coins & Currency have prided ourselves on offering “The Best Service in the Business.” Every item is strictly graded, certified authentic and comes with a 30-day no-risk home examination. There are no clubs to join, we never send on-approval coins and we don’t use a hard sell. Serving Collectors Since 1975.

McCauley2 July 6, 2018 Abstract This study divides the world into currency zones according to the co-movement of each currency with the key currencies. The dollar zone groups economies that produce well over half of global GDP. The euro zone now includes almost all of Europe and some commodity producers, but remains less than half the size of the dollar zone. The dollar zone share has shown striking stability despite big shifts across zones over time. These include the demise of the sterling zone and the expansion of the DM/euro from northwestern Europe to Europe and beyond. Global imbalances look very different from a currency perspective. In the 2000s, the dollar zone’s current account improved as the dollar depreciated, even as the US current account plumbed all-time lows.
