  • LIVE NATION, INC. (Exact Name of Registrant As Specified in Its Charter) Delaware 20-3247759 (State of Incorporation) (I.R.S
20072007 ANNUALANNUAL REPORTREPORREPO T TO OUR SHAREHOLDERS We continued to demonstrate success in 2007 in executing our strategic plan. We took multiple steps to transform Live Nation into a vertically integrated live music company that directly unites artists, fans and sponsors across all revenue generating products. We are moving ahead to capitalize on our global concert platform as artists look for expanded and new business partners. Reaching an agreement in principle with U2 for a 12-year exclusive partnership is another signifi cant validation that Live Nation is the most attractive option for the biggest artists in the world. Madonna, and now U2, believe in Live Nation and our promising future as a highly innovative music company that is responding quickly to changes in the music business landscape. As a result, we believe Live Nation is a signifi cantly stronger organization, strategically and fi nancially, than only one year ago. Over the next year, we will continue to build on our three core strategies: • Grow our global concert platform internally • Prepare to launch our global ticketing, online business in 2009 • Continue to enter relationships with touring artists for longer and wider product lines centered around our core concert business When we launched Live Nation in December 2005, the company had been declining in overall profi tability for the previous few years. We set out to stop the decline and turn Live Nation into a growth company by running our core business better and by expanding into new revenue streams. In 2007, we set out to do four main things, all of which we achieved – to improve our North American Music operations, grow our International Music platform, launch the Live Nation Artist division and defi ne our Ticketing/ Online future.

  • Folkestone and Hythe Birds Tetrad Guide: TR23 H (Mill Point East, Folkestone Harbour and Folkestone Pier)
Folkestone and Hythe Birds Tetrad Guide: TR23 H (Mill Point East, Folkestone Harbour and Folkestone Pier) The coastline is one of the main features within the tetrad, over half of which is comprised by sea. There is a shingle beach which runs from the west end to Folkestone Pier and at low tide a rocky area (Mill Point) is exposed in the western section. Inland of this, in the western half of the tetrad, is the Lower Leas Coastal Park, which extends into the adjacent square. The Coastal Park, which is also known as ‘Mill Point’, has been regularly watched since 1988 and a total of 172 species have been recorded here (the full list is provided at the end of this guide). The Coastal Park was created in 1784 when a landslip produced a new strip of land between the beach and the revised cliff line. In 1828 the Earl of Radnor built a toll road providing an easy route between the harbour and Sandgate and the toll house survives as a private residence within the tetrad. Looking west along Folkestone Beach towards the Lower Leas Coastal Park Looking south-east along Folkestone Pier Either side of the toll road land was cultivated or grazed until in the 1880s pines and Evergreen (Holm) Oaks were planted, being soon followed by self-seeded sycamores, creating a coastal woodland with a lower canopy of hawthorn and ground cover, designed to appeal to visitors to the emerging resort of Folkestone. Access to this wooded area is provided by the toll road and several paths, including the promenade on the Leas which affords good views into the tree tops, where crests, flycatchers and warblers, including Yellow-browed Warbler on occasion, may be seen.

  • Written Evidence Submitted by the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers (STAR)
Written evidence submitted by the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers (STAR) Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee Inquiry into the Impact of Covid-19 on DCMS Sectors 1. ABOUT STAR 1.1. STAR, the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers, is the self-regulatory body for the ticket industry formed in 1997 by companies and organisations within the ticketing industry. Its membership encompasses ticket agents, ticketing system suppliers, arenas, sports bodies, promoters, producers, music venues, most West End theatres and many other theatres and venues in London and across the UK. STAR members subscribe to a Code of Practice covering standards of service and information and we estimate that our ticket agent members represent over 90% of that sector. STAR works to help resolve disputes between its members and ticket buyers and is approved by Government under the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015. (See list of members below) 2. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 2.1. Ticketing is a key element of the delicate eco-system that supports the tremendous UK live entertainment and events industries as well as other significant sectors in the remit of the DCMS which have been devastated as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic. 2.2. Ticket agents represent a significant proportion of ticket sales for UK events and are an important factor in the success of marketing shows and achieving successful ticket sales. They also play a significant role in helping build new audiences, creating innovation, developing technical resources, finding new distribution channels, marketing and advertising events to both domestic and overseas markets.

Old Harveians’ Newsletter: October 2020 oldharveians.org.uk _______________________________________________________________________________________ OLD HARVEIANS’ NEWSLETTER (2020) _____________________________________________________ “ The superior man more than anything is dedicated to wisdom and friendship. Of these the first is mortal good, the second immortal. ” Haris Dimitriadis - ‘Epicurus and the Pleasant Life: A Philosophy of Nature’ 1 Old Harveians’ Newsletter: October 2020 oldharveians.org.uk INTRODUCTION FROM YOUR PRESIDENT We are once again experiencing a time of great uncertainty. As the country continues its Brexit transition we have had to face up to a new problem in the form of Covid-19. This global pandemic has affected us all in one way or another and has, as you all know, impacted dreadfully on some more than others, particularly those who work in front line services, those who are in education, and those of later years who tend naturally to be in a more vulnerable category for many reasons. In these circumstances I write to you more than ever in the spirit of friendship, knowing that what brings us together will be to some a (continuing) comfort in itself, and I hope that what you read about within these pages will be something of a welcome distraction from the usual facts, figures and predictions that seem to cast a permanent shadow over our daily lives at this time. We must therefore, in the spirit of hope, enjoy the moment as much as we can, whilst at the same time looking to the past with gratitude and looking to the future with optimism. So far as the past is concerned we will not, for obvious reasons, be able to hold the OHA Annual Dinner this year; but so far as the future is concerned, we must look to the young, such as those who are current pupils at our old school, whose abilities and promise make me feel confident that things can be turned around, not just nationally but globally too, for the benefit of all.

December 2011 New Sports Hall and Pavilion. Cheriton Road Image: Mike Pearson www.gofolkestone.org.uk Cheriton road Sports Ground Regeneration – Centre of Excellence for Cricket and Hockey The overall project has been split into three phases. Phase 3 works have commenced and will provide a new build 21st Century contemporary Sports Hall and Pavilion. On ground floor, the Pavilion accommodation includes a Sports Shop, reception, medical treatment room, dedicated changing officials changing, general male / female changing and four team changing rooms, all with direct access on to the pitches. At first floor level, the pavilion will provide a function room with member’s bar, large external viewing balconies overlooking the new pitches. With the Pavilion placed centrally at the heart of the development it will be possible to watch all of the surrounding sporting activities from a single space, which enjoys panoramic views of the site. Another key attribute to the Pavilion is the provision of a Youth Room which is fundamental to the aspirations of the project and introducing younger generations to the sporting clubs at the earliest possible opportunity, further enhanced by a Youth and Sports Development Officer. Connecting the Pavilion to the Sports Hall is a highly glazed Link, which acts as the main entrance, accommodates a state of the art Member’s Gym and offers views from a Gallery down into the Sports Hall. The Sports hall itself will be a highly flexible space including the provision for indoor, cricket and hockey, both practice and competitive matches. The main contractor for the phase 3 works has been on site for three months.
