Whether you are an annual donor renewing your commitment, a loyal season ticket holder or a new supporter, the importance that your contribution plays in advancing opportunities for our Tigers and helping to build the future of TU Athletics cannot be overstated. It is our goal to be Baltimore’s College Team. Our desire to build greatness both academically and athletically is not possible without the continued help of Tiger Nation. This fan and donor guide outlines a few ways to ensure the current and future success of TU Athletics in the classroom, in competition and in the community. As you flip through its pages, it is my hope that you find it to be educational, informational and most of all—inspiring. As the landscape of collegiate athletics continues to evolve, the financial investment required to provide scholarships and resources for our student-athletes is at an all-time high. MISSION Towson Athletics enriches the university through a culture of engagement while leading and inspiring our student-athletes to be champions in competition, the classroom and the community. OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE AN IMPACT The Tiger Athletic Fund (TAF) is the fundraising arm for Towson University Athletics and supports over 500 student-athletes and 19 Division I sports each year. Donations of all sizes allow you to have an impact on our student-athletes and provides them with an opportunity to BUILD GREATNESS. ACADEMICS LAUREN COLEMAN Junior, Business Administration Track & Field “Being a student-athlete at TU has given me the opportunity to experience all the advantages that being a Tiger has to offer. Competing in track & field allows me to play the sport I love, while pursuing a degree in business. I have learned so much from the coaches, faculty and staff at TU while making friendships and memories in the classroom and on the field that will last a lifetime.” Excellence in Academics During the Fall 2017 semester, 307 out of 483 student-athletes earned a 3.00 GPA or higher, which equals 64 percent of all Tiger student-athletes. In conjunction with the sports medicine department, TU Athletics launched the Tiger Fuel Zone during the fall of 2017, which features nutritious drinks and snacks for student-athletes to recover and refuel.
