TOGETHER WE CAN BUILD ’S COLLEGE TEAM

Greetings Tiger Nation, By opening this fan and donor guide, you are one step closer to making an impact on Athletics and over 500 Tiger student-athletes! Whether you are an annual donor renewing your commitment, a loyal season ticket holder or a new supporter, the importance that your contribution plays in advancing opportunities for our Tigers and helping to build the future of TU Athletics cannot be overstated. It is our goal to be Baltimore’s College Team. Our desire to build greatness both academically and athletically is not possible without the continued help of Tiger Nation. This fan and donor guide outlines a few ways to ensure the current and future success of TU Athletics in the classroom, in competition and in the community. As you flip through its pages, it is my hope that you find it to be educational, informational and most of all—inspiring. As the landscape of collegiate athletics continues to evolve, the financial investment required to provide scholarships and resources for our student-athletes is at an all-time high. With this in mind, I ask that every member of Tiger Nation consider making an impact through giving to the Tiger Athletic Fund. I would personally like to thank you for everything you have done and will continue to do to strengthen TU Athletics. Loyal donors and fans are the lifeblood of our success and serve as our greatest brand ambassadors. Together, we can build Baltimore’s College Team!

They have provided me with the structure, support and confidence that has allowed me to compete at my highest ability, both in the classroom and on the field, giving me the tools and opportunities to shape my future.”

Excellence in Athletic Success Tiger student-athletes are educated on the effects of nutrition on athletic performance. In conjunction with the sports medicine department, TU Athletics launched the Tiger Fuel Zone during the fall of 2017, which features nutritious drinks and snacks for student-athletes to recover and refuel. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES As operational costs continue to rise, the need to grow annual support remains a critical priority. There are various opportunities to support our student- athletes. Donations provide resources essential to their success including scholarships, team travel, recruiting, athletic facilities, nutrition, staffing, equipment and beyond. For further information on giving opportunities, please contact the Tiger Athletic Fund at 1-877-9TOWSON.

UNRESTRICTED GIVING Unrestricted gifts to the Tiger Athletic Fund give the Athletic Director the most freedom to enhance areas from which all student-athletes can benefit, including facility enhancements, recruiting, nutrition and travel. Unrestricted giving supports the well-being of all Tigers, rather than the scope of giving to one team or project.

INDIVIDUAL SPORT GIVING Towson University has 19 Division I sports teams, all of which have needs that extend beyond the funding capabilities of the athletics department. Gifts to individual sports support additional resources needed to compete at the highest level. Giving to a specific sport or project is a great way to feel a deeper connection with the Towson University sport that is most meaningful to you.

ENDOWMENTS Giving to an endowment is an investment in the future of Towson Athletics while still allowing current Tigers to benefit. An endowment accrues interest and allows a percentage to be drawn annually for scholarships or annual support. The more invested in an endowment, the greater the annual impact will be.

CAPITAL PROJECTS Private support for capital projects enhances Towson Athletics in the areas of recruiting, competitiveness and functionality. Currently, the athletic department is in the initial phases of several new capital projects, to break ground during the the 2018-19 academic year. More information coming soon.
