THE PROCLAIMERS – January 2015 Since ending their last 2 year long world tour in spectacular fashion as the first Scottish act to play at Glasgow’s new arena The Hydro in October 2013, Craig and Charlie have had their heads down writing. They have now completed that process with another brilliant collection of songs which will feature on the new ‘Let’s Hear It For The Dogs” which will be released on Cooking Vinyl on 27th April. They recorded the album with their live band in Edinburgh in December at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales with producer Dave Eringa. Dave is a DAVE ERINGA - (, & , The Manic Street Preachers, Idlewild) - Dave has just produced & mixed the new single for The Who called ‘Be Lucky’, which is the closing track on ‘Who Hits 50’, a two disc compilation album of the bands greatest work. After the international success of Wilko & Daltry’s record ‘’ - which sold over 100,000 copies achieving Gold status & charting for twenty three weeks in the UK album charts, Dave was asked to produce Roger Daltrey’s new solo album. He also achieved no.1 in France for his mixing work on Calogero’s new album ‘Les Feux D’Artifice’. 2015 - Will see on the road live from late May through to Hogmanay. We are currently working on UK festivals from late May over the summer, looking at potential international dates and a 32 date UK tour in November/December. The plan is to continue touring around the world and back in UK through to summer 2016. Dates confirmed so far are 30/6 Wychwood Festival, 2/8 Carfest North, 6/8 Belladrum, 8/8 Wickham Festival, 14/8 Cropredy SUNSHINE ON LEITH - Following on from the theatre success of the musical drama featuring songs by The Proclaimers ‘Sunshine On Leith’, the movie version had its UK release in October 2013 and was hugely popular, opening at number 3, moving up to 2 in it’s second week and spending another month in the top ten, generating over £4.8 million at the UK Box office. Sunshine On Leith was number 5 in the highest grossing Independent UK films of 2013. The movie was released in the UK on DVD/Blu-ray on 27th January 2014 debuting at number 3 in DVD Charts. Over 1.5 million people in the UK will have seen the film so far. In 2014 the movie has also been top ten in New Zealand and Australian box office’s, spending 9 weeks in NZ Top 20 and 6 weeks in OZ top 20. It hit number 13 in Spain and had art-house releases in Japan, Taiwan, France, Vietnam and South Korea. 2015 sees the film released in USA, Canada and Germany and will have have its UK Terrestrial TV premiere. THE PROCLAIMERS: LYRICS 1987-2013. Nine Studio – 125 Song Lyrics - Released last month in paperback and digital versions. Craig and Charlie Reid have written consistently wonderful words and music across their career to date. These songs are timeless, the lyrics capturing a gamut of human emotions, written with poignancy, honesty and humour. Their songs feature at weddings, funerals and everything in-between and there is one song, an early celebration of falling head over heels in love that is known the world over and has become a staggering global anthem. There are many others that have gained great popularity in different parts of the planet and then there is a wide cross section of sublime songs embraced by a multitude that has kept up with The Proclaimers nine studio albums and compilation collections released between 1987 and 2013.
