The important topics covered in this edition are: 2021 Suez Canal Obstruction- In March 2021, the Suez Canal, one of the world's busiest trade routes, was blocked for six days after the accidental grounding of Ever Given, a Golden-class container ship. The company said that the 400-metrelong (1,300 ft.) vessel had been buffeted on 23 March by strong winds, knocking it off course. Reservation- Reservation is a system of affirmative action in India that provides historically disadvantaged groups representation in education, employment and politics. Based on provisions in the Indian Constitution, it allows the Indian government to set reserved quotas or seats, which lower the qualifications needed in exams, job openings etc. for "socially and economically backward citizens." 66th Filmfare awards- The Filmfare awards were first introduced in 1954. The Clares was the original name of the award ceremony, named after The Times of India critic Clare Mendonca. 67th National Film Awards - The 67th National Film Awards have finally been announced. Further, the last date for submission of options was extended upto 20.10.2015 vide HO Circular 471/2015 dated 01.10.2015. The option received from the eligible retired employees with mode of exit as Superannuation, VRS, SVRS, at various HRM Sections of Circles have been consolidated and published in the Annexure. We request the eligible retired officers/ employees to check for their name if they have submitted the option in the list appended.
