His outstanding voice and the brilliant interpretation of his roles captivated the audience just as much as his colourful personality. Great moments in the histo- ry of music were followed by fierce rival- ry and eccentric escapades. He perfor- med during the premières of Haendel’s operas Serse and Faramondo in London and Haendel composed his famous aria « Ombra mai fu » (from Serse) for him. In the course of his eventful career Caf- farelli made a considerable fortune and was also awarded the title of Duke of San Dorato. Franco Fagioli, one of the most renowned counter-tenors of our times, brings back to life the fascinating world of Caffarelli. The young and dynamic baroque orches- tra « Il Pomo d’oro », directed by Maxim Emelyanychev, will be his musical part- ner. The CD is due to be published by NAÏVE on september 13th, 2013. 1 ARIAS FOR CAFFARELLI PARNASSUS ARTS PRODUCTIONS Programme Instrumental Instrumental Nicola Porpora Giovanni Battista Pergolesi «Passaggier che sulla sponda» «Lieto così talvolta» Gennaro Manna Leonardo Leo «Cara ti lascio, Addio» «Sperai vicino il lido» Leonardo Vinci Instrumental «In braccio a mille furie» Pasquale Cafaro Instrumental «Gonfio tu vedi il fiume Johann Adolph Hasse Domenico Sarro «Fra l’orror della tempesta» «Un cor che ben ama» Leonardo Leo «Misero pargoletto» Gennaro Manna «Odo il suono di tromba guerriera» Intermission Maxim Emelyanychev Il Pomo d’Oro 2 ARIAS FOR CAFFARELLI PARNASSUS ARTS PRODUCTIONS Dates Partners 24 November 2013 Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, DE 25 November 2013 Salle Gaveau, Paris, FR 13 June 2014 Festival Froville, Froville, FR 15 June 2014 Tivoli Festival, Copenhagen, DK 20 June 2014 Lessingtheater Wolfenbüttel, DE 7 June 2015 Halle, DE 9 June 2015 Opéra Royal, Versailles, FR 22 March 2017 Teatro Real, Madrid, ES 24 March 2017 Grenoble, FR CD PARNASSUS ARTS PRODUCTIONS Management: Georg Lang T: +43(0) 1 8904151 Barnabitengasse 5/4 E: [email protected] A - 1060 Vienna, Austria.
