Topic of study: Biophysical characterization of ion beams for hadrontherapy and/or radiation protection. Main tasks: { Simulations using the BIANCA (BIophysical ANalysis of Cell death and chromosome Aberrations) model to reproduce experimental data for the chromosome aberration yield in human lymphocytes induced by ions of interest for hadrontherapy and space radiation protection. { Simulations using the BIANCA model to reproduce experimental data for cell survival considering ions of interest for space radiation protection (up to Fe ions). { Prediction of the effectiveness at inducing chromosome aberrations, for different ion beams, using the interface between BIANCA and the FLUKA MC code. { Participation in the INSPIRIT project.
