If you move during the year, be sure to notify the office of the change. Your child is eligible for transportation if your address is more than 1.5 miles from school. Be sure to bring in a valid proof of address, dated within the last month for address changes. The following forms will be accepted as proof. There are no exceptions. Telephone bill Landlord lease RG & E bill Rent Statement A notarized form Administration- There are three administrators at Kodak Park School #41 this school year. They are: Mrs. Marion Whitfield, Principal, Ms. Cynthia Ragus, Assistant Principal and Ms. Tiffany Lee, Assistant Principal. If you wish to see an administrator, please call the school and set up an appointment. The phone number is 254-4472. Arrival- The school day begins at 7:50 am. The school building will not be open until that time. Students who walk should arrive at school as close to 7:50 as possible, unless they eat breakfast at school. Breakfast begins at 7:35 am for walkers. All walkers should enter through EXIT 8. If your child is observed being dropped off earlier than these times, we will send home a warning letter and call home. It is not safe to leave children unsupervised outside of the school. Attendance- Kodak Park School #41 and the RCSD will focus on maximizing student attendance by clarifying responsibilities of staff, students, parents, and community, identifying appropriate resources, and ensuring that students are successful academically, economically, and socially. The expectation is that all schools will continually strive toward 100% attendance. Parents and guardians have primary responsibility for ensuring that students arrive to school daily and on time. They are obligated to inform the school that their child will be absent from school or classes, and responsible for encouraging students to stay in school. In the event a student is absent, the parent is to provide a written excuse within five days of the absence. This results in an excused absence. If a parent does not send a written excuse into school with their child, the absence will be recorded as an illegal absence. Parents should call the school when their child is going to be absent and follow up with written notification to the school. An automated call will be sent out each time your child is absent. A letter will be sent when your child has missed 10 days of school and CPS will be contacted if your child is absent 20 or more days. Parent Handbook 2014-2015 Page 7 B Blackboard Connect- The district’s automated calling system that is used to provide families with important information related to district wide and school based issues, such as school closings and school wide events. Breakfast: Depending on family income, students will pay full or reduced prices for school meals, or receive meals at no cost. In order for your child to be eligible for free or reduced priced meals, an approved lunch application must be completed, signed and on file each school year. Applications will be sent home at the beginning of the school year or at time of registration. Please complete these in a timely manner. (Reduced price for breakfast is $.25 and non-reduced price is $.50) C Cell Phones- Cell phones are not allowed in school. If a cell phone is brought to school, it must be held by the classroom teacher or administrator until the end of the school day. If a child is found using the cell phone in school, the phone will be confiscated and the parent will have to pick it up at school. All cell phones will be discarded at the end of the year if they are not picked up. Code of Conduct- The Rochester City School District has established a set of expectations for conduct on school grounds that apply to all District personnel, students, parents and guardians and visitors. Each classroom establishes their expectations based on district expectations so that all children who attend our school will be provided a safe and secure learning environment.

    Seneca Park Zoo SOCIETY Annual Report 2014 Dear Zoo Friends and Supporters, 2014 was a year of transition for the Seneca Park Zoo Society. New leadership brings new ideas, and opportunities for an organization to be self-reflective. New leadership is often a time to challenge the status quo, and assess whether an organization is maximizing its value to the community it serves. To that end, the Zoo Society looked closely at its brand position, and found that the Zoo’s strong brand as the Natural Place for Families was well known and working to drive attendance by families with small children. However, the conservation work being done by the Seneca Park Zoo, and the role the Zoo plays in saving animals from extinction, was almost entirely unknown to the general public. Great stories were just waiting to be told, so we began repositioning our messaging. Those behind- the-scenes changes came to life in 2015 in the Zoo’s marketing partnerships, its membership programs, and its publications, such as ZooNooz. The Zoo Society, along with our Monroe County partners, embarked on a strategic plan/master plan process. Recommendations from that process will be ready to share with the public in mid-2015. The need to remove the Zoo’s Main Building by 2018 in order to maintain accreditation with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums is one of the driving forces behind the master plan.     Grant Taylor Photography Grant Taylor 2016 Annual Report Dear Friends and Supporters: If there’s one word that describes the year at Seneca Park Zoo, it is “transformational.” This transformation refers not only to the construction planned for the Zoo, but to the transformation of the community’s awareness of the Zoo as a nature-based organization committed to conservation, sustainability, and species survival. For decades, accredited zoos and aquariums have been at the forefront of the fight against extinction, but most of that work has been behind the scenes, and the public wasn’t aware of our collective efforts. As a result, the word “zoo” continues to conjure up images of animals in cages for many people, especially non-traditional zoo audiences such as millennials and adults without children. This image is for the most part antiquated, but vestiges of what zoos used to be remain, including Seneca Park Zoo’s Main Building. 2016 was marked by two primary initiatives for the Seneca Park Zoo Society: 1. The creation and implementation of projects aimed at reconnecting people with nature. 2. Planning for the implementation of the Zoo’s Master Plan, including the launch of the largest capital campaign in the Zoo Society’s history. This report outlines the continued efforts made in 2011 to drive sustainable improvements in our health, safety and environmental performance. Thanks to the commitment and efforts of Kodak employees, along with assistance and cooperation from our tenants and neighbors, our energy usage was reduced by 7%, air emissions decreased 12% and more than a thousand tons of material was recycled. All of this along with many other success stories are examples of our progress in this journey. In 2012, we continue to transform EBP into a vital technology center/ industrial park with over 35 independent businesses. Some of those businesses have expanded their site space which has also created job growth. The continued support for our operations from those who live near and work at EBP is a critical element for a successful future. Description of Facility/Community/Geographic Area Eastman Kodak Company (Kodak) is the world’s leader in imaging, and a manufacturer of imaging systems (cameras, scanners) and media (film, photographic paper, photographic chemicals). Kodak employs 46,300 people in the US and has manufacturing facilities in Rochester, NY, Windsor, CO, Peabody, MA, and White City, OR. These facilities are situated in both urban and suburban environments. As a leader in new technology development in the imaging industry, Kodak registers many new chemical substances with the EPA each year. Once approved, these substances may be used in one or several of the company’s facilities, and it is these substances that allow the company to develop and improve the products it sells. The Health and Environment Laboratories (HAEL) is a central or corporate facility which evaluates materials and equipment that are involved in manufacturing processes or are being considered for use in new products. Functions carried out by HAEL include toxicology, environmental, and safety testing; risk assessment; risk communication; and risk management. HAEL has been in continuous operation since 1936 making it one of the first facilities of its kind in the USA. Approximately 100 people are employed in HAEL, which is located at 1100 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, NY. The facility is located on the edge of a large industrial park (Kodak Park). The surrounding buildings are commercial enterprises and there are no sensitive natural resource areas in the general area of the HAEL facility.
